I have too many watches. So of course, I just added this Timex Weekender to my collection. My first watch was a Timex in the 1970s, back when you still had to wind the mechanical movement. This is only my second Timex, and is easily the least expensive watch I own. It's a really nicely made, good looking casual watch. Its gray nylon band has an orange stripe running down the center. The case (38mm diameter) is finely chrome plated, and it has a stainless-steel back. The face is a nicely done silvery-gray color with white numbers. The hands are simple chrome units. Pushing in the crown activates the Timex Indiglo backlight system that makes it really easy to read in the dark. The watch doesn't have a date display. The band has a chrome buckle and two chrome loops that cleverly fold down to secure the end of the strap. It's a little smaller in diameter than most of my watches, and thinner too. It feels good on my wrist though and I think it avoids screaming "I was really cheap." The strap loops under the watch case, making it easy to remove. At the store where I purchased this watch, there were extra straps available in different colors for those who like to customize. A welcome addition to my watch collection, and one that won't break the bank.

This is a pretty good watch, I actually bought an after market NATO band for it because i thought it needed something special. This would be a 5/5, however, this watch is loud- it is louder than my clock on the wall. Warning- dont sit in a quiet room with this thing, it is like the CLOCK in Peter Pan..... Tic Toc Tic Toc Tic Toc. I seriously have never had a watch this loud before, so this is a warning to others.

But other than it being obscenely loud- it seems to be a pretty good watch.

This is a very stylish watch, especially for the money! The watch was more sturdy and weighed a bit more than I expected...very nice!

Best of all, compare this watch to the J.Crew Timex® Military Watch which is listed for $150...the weekender is almost identical!! And over $100 less.

Great watch...classic American styling.

As soon as I saw this watch, I had to have it. When I was growing up in the 70's, my cousin had a watch with a similar band so this attracted me instantly. I saw it in 1 of the big-box stores so I had the luxury of seeing it up close in different colors before I ordered the gray/orange from Amazon. I especially love retro watches, so this is a great addition to my humble collection. It's simple yet classic, which is what I love most about it. Just does what it's supposed to do, tell the time. No extra buttons, no alarm, no fuss..love it! Light on the wrist and light on the pocket. It's now my primary timepiece and it works well with both my weekend and weekday attire. Perfect!!

I bought this watch as a "test" watch. This is the first watch I've owned and here are my thoughts:

PROS:
-Price. As a first-time watch buyer, I didn't want to spend much money and at $30, this one was a steal.
-Size. One of my pet peeves with men's watches is their size, however this watch is small, but not so much that it looks too feminine. About 35mm diam.
-Indiglo. A Timex classic, with the press of a button, you can have a glowing dial tell you the time in a dimly lit room.
-Woven Strap. Comfortable yet feels sturdy and durable.
-TIME! Almost forgot, but the day I got it I set it to US Atomic Time (online) and 6 weeks later, I'm only 10 seconds behind Atomic Time. Pretty good for $30 Watch.

CONS:
-Loud. I know that everybody has said it about this watch already, but this is a noticeably loud watch. TICK-TOCK!
-WR30m I realize this is a cheap watch, but it would be nice if it were more water resistant, say 100m so that you could swim while wearing it like the design suggests to the wearer.
-Shiny Case. It's not really a CON, but the picture in the ad suggests a "brushed aluminum" finish. Not the case (no pun intended). This is a shiny, mirror-like finish so if that doesn't float your boat, don't get it.

Overall, this watch has been great and I highly recommend it to anyone trying to get into watch-wearing or just needs a cheap, classic looking daily watch.

This watch screams classic. The dial is subtle and understated and not obnoxious like some of us internet marketing tpyes go for. The indiglo is cool for us gadget-obsessed folks, but this is a great pick-up and it has not left my wrist since my birthday...

This Timex watch looks fantastic and is priced very cheaply. The quality of construction is very high considering the low price.
The only downsides are the lack of a date indicator, glass susceptible to scratches and also the water resistance is only basic - 30m splash proof only.
(But in reality what do you expect for this amazingly low price).
I also bought a Seiko SNK809 automatic for approx $60. The Seiko had better water resistance, date indicator and automatic function.
I would recommend buy the Seiko, and buy a replacement watch strap to make this Seiko look half similar to the Timex.
However, you can't beat that amazing looking "indiglo" light.

I was seeking a vintage looking watch and luckily I found this one. It looks very similar to the vintage army issued bulova watches. Its a great look and very comfortable to wear. The lightweight canvas band is very breathable and great for summertime.
