Gallery Force-Close Bug Still Present, Other Unused Permissions - Yet Quite an Engagingly Done Drawing App
on March 23, 2015
"What's new in version 1.2.90
•New support for Kindle Fire HD and other High Density Display devices. Bug fix exporting picture to Android Gallery"
Eh, that bug is apparently still there - running a Quad Core MTK8127 processor (KitKat 4.4.2, 1 GIG Ram and very minimal background processes). Every time I tap the Gallery within the app, the program force closes, and I lose my work. :(
And I am forced to ask -
•Required to be able to access the camera device
•Set the wallpaper
Where are the in-app functions for these permissions?
I can well understand how they would be implemented - take a photo, add Groucho Marx mustaches and glasses to everything, set as wallpaper, but there isn't any such current ability. I also checked to see if the app made the in-app Album available to my wallpaper menu selection. No joy. No import functions at all. And if these permissions are not being used, need to be excised.
Aside from those issues, this is a rather nifty drawing app. I think the stickers are very well done. A large, practical variety that not only adds to a possible picture, but can readily become the focal point of creativity around it. Can't resize them, yet they are already appropriately sized in relative proportion to the drawing field. The paint brush textures are great. Slightly disappointed the colored pencils/crayons don't allow for finer shading; however, the color selections (and paper background options) are staggering.
The code itself is squeaky clean, and installs a little under 50MB with an option to move off the Device Memory. Runs OFFLINE, and the back-key not only functioned to go back a menu step, but also exits out completely and cleanly.
