Being someone who gets extremely hot at night, this comforter is great. It is nice and light, but still has that comfortable secure feeling. I put a duvet cover over it, but it was nice straight out of the box.

To be honest, the cheap price of this comforter nearly scared me off. I had been shopping for a summer weight queen size to put in my duvet cover, and this was about a quarter of the price of even the least expensive comforters at BBB and Company Store. How could this possibly be any good? But all the four and five star reviews here persuaded me to give it a try, and I'm very happy that I did!
Right out of the package, the look and feel exceeded anything I expected. The outer shell of polyester microfiber had an attractive and muted white-on-white embossed pattern and a soft feel. The stitching appeared perfect and of high quality, though you're not going to get a fancy piped border at this price point. Surprisingly, it does have tie straps for duvet covers that include ties to hold the comforter in place. Additionally, the down alternative fill was well-distributed throughout the sewn-through squares, lofted nicely after it had been out of the packing bag for a few hours, and seemed an appropriate amount for a lightweight comforter.
Since most new fabrics are treated with some sort of finish that I always find objectionable, the first thing I did was wash and dry this comforter, and it came out perfectly. This bodes well for future launderings. And then it went into my duvet cover.
I tend to sleep a little on the "warm" side, and I have a memory foam mattress which doesn't help. So I was concerned that this comforter might not be light enough for summer use here in NYC, but it's a perfect weight--exactly what I was hoping to find. I know other reviews say this comforter is too hot--but since husbands and wives routinely battle it out in "the temperature wars," why expect agreement here on Amazon?
SO... what are you giving up compared to pricier comforters?
First, as nice as this one looks and feels, my daughter's basic Primaloft comforter from Company Store looks and feels even nicer. But is it four times nicer, which was the difference in price? Not even close. Plus, the look and feel matters a whole lot less if you're using this in a duvet cover.
Second, this comforter is not true to the size stated: it was two inches shorter in width, and three inches shorter in length. In a duvet cover, you want a comforter that's the same size or slightly larger, so it doesn't shift around. So this ended up being smaller than I expected, and it does shift a bit... but I'll live with it at this price point. However, I deducted one star for it not being true to the stated measurements.
Finally, while I might have listed long-term durability as a question mark for such an inexpensive comforter, some reviews (via follow-up postings) state that this isn't an issue, and I tend to believe that's true.
To sum up: sure, you can find nicer comforters at MUCH higher prices, but the price to quality ratio of this one is off-the-charts, and a "buy" recommendation doesn't get much easier than this.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review and I hope you find it helpful in making a buying decision. I do try to answer questions posted in the comments section of my reviews.

I bought two of the comforter, one is for a guest room.
I love going to bed, this is so light and feels so soft
Some mornings, I just stay in bed a few more hours.
Not a waste of money, thats a for sure.
I would highly reccomend buying this comforter.
I have not washed the comforter yet, so I can not
give a review on the washing/drying.
9-21-2012 I have now washed & dryed the comforters and I can not believe how
nice they washed up & dryed. I washed on the normal cycle (WARM WATER) and dryed on the perma-press cycle
and put them right back on the beds. They looked just perfect.
I hope this review helps anyone who is thinking about buying one or more.
(Someone sent me a comment) asking if this was a poem? I can not fiqure out what that means.
Check out my other reviews on my purchases, I buy many things through Amazon.com and 99.9% of the time I am very happy with
items I have boought.
And no, I do not work for this Comforter Company. I love reading other reviews from other shoppers, this has helped me many times to decide if I want to purchase an item that I do not know much about.
This is a little longer review then I usally write.

I replaced another "year around" weight (they claimed) duvet insert from Natural Comfort with this one, and it's a perfect weight without being too hot. (The other one was too hot even in February in San Francisco around 45-50 degrees at night, and I thought it would have been much better at a snowed in cabin at around 20-30 degrees.)
Why they call this a blanket, I don't know. It even has cords at each corner to tie duvet cover corners to. It's also not pretty enough to be a blanket, but it's a FANTASTIC duvet insert. The perfect weight. I can't imagine anyone wouldn't love it.

My partner is always cold and I am always hot. For years we each used separate blankets so we could get the ideal climate for our own needs. I hated making the bed in the morning due to all the different blankets! We had tried several more expensive duvets that didn't work so we just stuck to the 2 blanket method for 20 years. Based on previous reviews, I thought we'd give it a try. We are both pleasantly surprised. I can use all my cute summer duvet covers and we both are happy with the climate of our bed! I highly recommend this comforter for allergy sufferers as well. And the best part? The price!

Me? Thin female, bad circulation, constantly cold. The boyfriend? Tall, stocky, and always way too warm. This poses a problem when it comes to agreeing on bedding. He couldn't stand my thick down comforter and said he felt like he was always being smothered. I purchased this one, hoping that I would stay warm enough and that he wouldn't complain about it. With this specific comforter, we were in luck! He loves it. It's lightweight and he doesn't overheat. As for me, it keeps me warm. Very soft, well-made, and overall we couldn't be happier. SO glad I came across it on amazon!

I want one now for every bed in the house as it is like sleeping under a cloud! There is absolutely no heaviness like we experienced with our old comforter but it was every bit as warm. Already have washed it and it held up very well so I would not hesitate to purchase this comforter again.

This is an amazing comforter for the price! It is a perfect weight. We live in NW Wisconsin where we have VERY cold winters and cool summer nights. In winter we add an extra blanket to the bed for additional warmth, and in summer this comforter is perfect without getting too hot. Exactly what I wanted! We put a cotton cover on ours. Highly recommended!

This comforter is very soft and lightweight. It is exactly what I wanted, just right for Florida. It is the perfect filler for a duvet. So cozy. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.
