I've had this product for a few weeks now. I purchased it because I wanted something unique to grace my work area. One person has a garden gnome, another has a G.I. Joe... it's just how we are. Anyway, this is obviously not a toy for me since I'm a 29 year old flight medic, but I love dinosaurs and dinosaur films. The detail is incredible, down to every last tooth.

Unfortunately despite its awesomeness, I can't give it the full 5 stars because the right leg is twisted in such a way that a light breeze will knock the poor guy over. Thankfully he just sits on top of my computer tower. Right now he's wearing a party hat.

Pros:

Extremely realistic. An eerily precise replica of the ones in the wild.
Pose-able jaw is perfect for pretending T-Rex is talking to your cat.
Awesome action-pose makes it appear so lifelike that it scares all my other toys.

Cons:

Papo does not appear to make a T-Rex saddle.
It's not a velociraptor.

Like most of the reviews im going to rave about the detail and quality. My boyfriend collects the Schleich animals, but is unsatisfied with detailing and coloring of the Schleich Dinos. Papo is amazing! Looks just like the Jurassic Park T-rex! And it stands by itself without any support. Highly recommend!!

I bought this and the Papo Triceratops for my grand-nephew and inspected both before shipping them to him. Both were excellent dino figures and this Rex, in particular, is one of the best "toys" I've seen. Great for dino collectors as well.

Think I'll order another for myself ....

Papo probably makes the best dinosaurs and we were very much looking forward to this one; my daughter and I. First, I was under whelmed by its size, yes it matches this description measurements, but for a T-Rex I feel it should be bigger. The detail is amazing which is typical of Papo designs. The mouth opens and closes so it is able to devour your other dino friends. BUT, it is greatly lacking in one area, balance. It's body position is awkward and therefore getting it to stand up is a bit tricky. On a hard, flat, surface its not hard to stand it up, but you can wiggle it with the tip of your finger. If you have long carpet anywhere, it's very challenging. If your child wants to play on any other fun surface in the back yard etc. well...

So all in all this one is just OK.

This was not a Papo T-Rex! This was a Poor attempt to copy the Papo T-rex.
The jaw was loose and would not stay in place.
It would not stand by itself. The paint would rub off easily.
The eyes were much bigger (and buggier),orange and fake looking!
The coloring was different than the picture and a real Papo T-rex!
It was stamped 'Made in China". There were no Papo markings on it at all.
The middle picture is of a real Papo T-Rex.

This is the best T. Rex! It is way better than the first one. I like its pose better. I like it's teeth better. I like everything better! I highly recommend it.

I bought this for myself, and I have no regrets - it is fantastic. The level of detail in the face alone is amazing, and the range of motion of the jaw gives a decent variety of expression. It's true, it doesn't stand up super steadily if you're touching it or if it's on a soft surface, but it's not like it falls over on its own if it's on a hard surface. Favorite feature? The snaggletooth glare that makes him more like the T-Rex from King Kong than Jurassic Park, and looks amazing with the mouth open or closed. All in all, awesome for the price - definitely cheers me up to see him roaring around my apartment. :)

This Dinosaur is very realistic. It's heavy and definitely not made out of cheap material. It would be nice if it was bigger but I am not complaining. This is an awesome toy!

WOW. I can't express enough how amazing this thing is. It's definitely movie accurate to The Lost World male T-Rex, which is close to life accurate with the exceptions of the feathers it is believed T-Rex now had, and works well with the baby T-Rex. The amount of detail in every little scale and bump and crease is mind-blowing. There's even nicely painted blood on the rim of its jaws and in between the cracks of its teeth that is really well done. I cannot recommend this enough. I've been staring at it for a while now and it still has me blown away.
