I performed what is perhaps the most comprehensive test on these shoes. I bought these for a scouts camp right before I left for $77! I've owned boots for double the price that severely underperformed. You want these shoes. Not only for the price are they unbeatable but their mere quality is superb and I would easily pay $110-$120 for them. Now, onto the review.

The test essentially entails all 6 seasons and 89 different terrains. Without hyperbole, I put these shoes on at 7am in the morning and took them off at midnight for 4 days. On two days, I wore them in excess of 20 hours and here are the results:

Are they waterproof? Yes. I accidentally dipped into ankle-deep mud and water without consequences. When the rain came (and I mean, it poured), I ran into some issues because my pants became soaked at the water essentially began to leak in from the top. However, that is not the shoe's fault. More importantly, I put some newspapers into them, let them dry for the two hours that I slept and woke up to dry shoes!

Were my feet comfortable? Yes. As you read, I wore these shoes for long..long periods, most of them entailed walking or standing. Overall, my feet toughened up a bit but they certainly did not hurt. Moreover, through the days I experienced weather ranging from 28C to 0C. At 28C, I must admit that my feet were slightly hot but I was also wearing long pants and knee-high socks which may have contributed to the embouteillage of heat. They did not, though, get as hot as some of my previous boots. When it came to freezing temperatures, my feet were perfectly fine in the relatively thin, cotton socks that I was wearing.

Will they last? Probably. In the few days that I did wear these shoes, I put in a substantial amount of mileage on them and they showed no signs of fatigue but to truly see whether they'll last I'll have to continue wearing them.

Overall, these are excellent shoes!

It rains a lot in KY in fall and winter and I got sick of wet shoes so I bought a pair of these in brown from a local store. I tried on multiple boots in price ranges from $60-150 and went with these for several reasons. First they have a classic rugged style that goes with jeans or pants. They are also Waterproof, lightweight, comfortable, not bulky or oversized, and the tread pattern is very nice. Size 12 is my normal size for athletic shoes and the boots fit great for me in this size.

These boots are great because not only are the comfortable and durable but you can dress up a nice pair of pants with them. I walked twenty miles and had no discomfort at all. Don't know how well they are in water but I don't make a habit out of walking into deep puddles. In the rain they are great!

This is the first pair of Timberland boots I've owned. I usually find hiking boots too heavy and cumbersome, but these are really lightweight. The sole is rugged but not weighty. The first time I wore them, I spent the day in a mall, of all places! There are so comfortable I could have been wearing sneakers.

This is my second pair. Wore the first pair every day including work around the ranch a number of times. Good support and thorns don't penetrate any part of them unlike most cheap box store hiking boots. Require a lot of water exposure for any penetration. Very comfortable. My go to daily work boot.

I purchased these boots mainly to wear to work during the winter but they are so light and comfortable that I can wear them through the fall and winter.

Bought these based on my previous experience with Timberland products and especially their boots and they did not disappoint. The quality is excellent and the fit was just as I expected. I would recommend these boots to anybody looking for good winter boots at a good price.

This is my first pair of "hiking" boots, so I didn't know what to expect from these boots. I wanted something better than a rubber boot or work boot for winter city walking and these fit the bill, very nicely as it turned out.

I ordered the size 13 EE which is a size and a half larger than what I normally wear. I wanted to wear thick wool socks and perhaps with a pair of sock liners underneath, to keep my feet as warm and dry as possible. The 13 EE size turned out to be a perfect fit while wearing Carhartt Men's Artic Wool Heavy Boot Socks and a thin pair of sock liners. I immediately went out for a walk, 1.5 miles, mostly on city sidewalks and the boots felt like an old, comfortable pair of shoes.

When I got back to the house, my feet felt great, warm and dry, with no pain or discomfort caused either by the shoes or the walk. The boots are very light, feeling almost like a pair of my leather tennis shoes. I am very pleased with these boots.

I can't comment on their water resistance. After trying them on to make sure they fit, I administered a good coat of mink oil, to help ensure that they are as waterproof as I can make them. My walk was through several inches of snow, in some places, and when I removed the boots, my socks were dry.

Bottom line for me, I'll buy another pair when these are worn out.

These are nicely built, seem very sturdy, but not good if you wear orthotics as they sit up too high and the boot is cut low across the top of your foot. It's a shame, I liked the look and build quality, just not comfortable. In the big "D" I wear an 11 EE, these timberlands are much more narrow and not as long, even in the wide version. For most, they may be great. For someone like me with orthotics they are not.
