Beautiful texture and shine.
on August 25, 2011
I bought both the Tiber (in the Sephora store) and Piree (by Sephora.com order). I did this because I'd ordered the Piree but didn't want to wait for it to arrive - Sephora.com stuff takes about 2 weeks to get to me. So I actually owned the Tiber first. This is a true nude - it's exactly the same color as my lips, so it basically just gives me the look of a clear gloss. In that respect it is less than satisfactory. I like to actually add a little color. The Piree, when it arrived, was pinker, but not in a natural lip color type of way. It was definitely a more "makeup" color. I returned that one.
The texture is interesting. Previously I've preferred Nars regular gloss, Givenchy, and MAC lip glosses. MAC is always too slimy for me. Nars and Givenchy are both pretty good, with a moist feeling that's not too slimy. But this new Larger than Life gloss is almost a rubbery feeling. By this I mean it's almost difficult to rub your lips together when wearing it. It lasts a LONG time - my test day was two cups of coffee, a danish, another espresso, a bottle of iced tea, and a lemonade (with a straw) and then I still had to wipe off the gloss before eating lunch. Because of the unusual texture, it is difficult to just wipe off as you would with one of the more standard glosses. I find myself having to blot it off, rather than swipe.
If I need another lip gloss, this is definitely the line I'm starting with, but I have so many now that any other color would be duplicating something I already own. I highly recommend this one.
