In a tiny house with no hall closet my husband & are were desperate for a coat rack to hold EVERYTHING! It was incredibly easy to assemble. A little wobbly b/c of a design flaw in the base but has never tipped. I even tested it by hanging all of our winter coats on one side to see if it would tip. DIDN'T TIP!! It's been a great addition to our house & fits in with the decor. Excellant coat rack at a great price!

Don't let the light weight of the rack fool you. This thing holds a ton. Rack went together in less than 15 minutes, and has been holding all our winter gear, including a GIANT leather winter coat, multiple parkas sweaters, and bags ever since.

I just received this coat rack, and was super excited about it. Yes there were a few negative reviews, but it still had an overall rating of 4 stars, and I wasn't looking for anything fancy. It showed up early (in fact, my order status has not yet been updated to delivered) and proceeded to rain RUST all over my coat parade. Please see my pictures in the customer photo section, there are several examples of what I'm referring to here. The body, while smooth on the outside, showered rusty tidbits and even chunks all over me, my hardwood floor, and the instructions. Almost all of the arms have at least a few scratches on them (future rust, hooray), with some being worse than others. As I was pushing the parts of the body into each other, some paint around the edges began to flay out, sort of like a bad manicure.

A common complaint I saw in the reviews was that this stand is wobbly. The rack itself actually seems pretty sturdy, but the bottom legs are lopsided. Keeping in mind another review, I tried unscrewing it and screwing it back in. A little better, but not much. I tried swapping which set of legs was on top, just in case it was due to user error. No such luck. I messed with it until I got it as close as possible, but there is only so much you can do. Nonetheless, a felt pad under one leg should do the trick, and I think it will be pretty solid once I get that on.

If you buy this, also order some Rustoleum spray paint and some pads to put under the feet when they wobble.

***NOTE: I have contacted their customer service and am awaiting a reply. Since they do not accept returns that have been taken out of their packaging and/or assembled, I am hoping they will offer me a replacement or a refund. If they do, I will be updating my review and pictures to as appropriate.***

***UPDATE 1/23: I never heard back from customer service. Not one peep. Amazon's Customer Service, on the other hand, did take care of me, despite the fact that this really was the seller's issue to fix, not Amazon's. I will not use this seller again.***

Love the style but it is top-heavy and falls over very easily.

First thing that should be noted on this product is that it about 1/4 of the price of similar size coat racks. It holds a ton, but is somewhat wobbly. I had to put a little felt chair leg pad under one leg because it doesn't sit even on the ground. However, with the money I saved, I actually bought two of these (one for out in the entryway and another tucked away for extra coats, guests, etc.

It is stylish and actually can be used at full height, or for the sake of our kids, it can be assembled without the center section, making the total height roughly 4 1/2 feet tall - perfect for all of our kids and their friends. If you're looking for something more modern and unique, this is the way to go. It blends well, and it painted nicely. My kids rub zippers on it and my cats think it's a scratching post, and yet it has not damaged the paint (nor has it fallen over).

You could certainly spend over $100 and get a better product, but if you need something easy to assemble with plenty of space and hooks, this is definitely the way to go.

I have been using this for 5 months to hang heavy winter coats. It does what it's supposed to do. No problems whatsoever. The build quality is sufficient for its purpose - it's light yet sturdy. The only thing that will make this coat rack tip over is if you hang 4 heavy coats on just one side, which obviously it not a smart thing to do. Highly recommended.

It just arrived today, and we were able to set it up within ten minutes or so. You will need your own screwdriver and possibly a hammer to help push in the stoppers on the tubes. All of the parts and hardware were present. (Just FYI, if you think you are missing the small tube stoppers (part "O"), check inside the small, ball-shaped caps (part "M") before contacting the seller. They might be stuck in those... That's where ours were ;-) . )

On the coat tree we have 3 heavy winter coats, 2 peacoats, 1 leather jacket, 1 very light rain coat, 1 umbrella, 4 pairs of gloves, 3 scarves, and 3 winter hats (believe it or not, we still have 1 open hook on it). Although it does have a slight lean to it, the coat tree is extremely stable -- even with our 4 mischievous cats, I am not worried at all about it toppling over. (If it falls over, I'll edit this review.)

From the pictures, I wasn't sure how much to expect out of the hooks midway up the stem, but they are large enough, high enough, and sturdy enough to hold our 2 peacoats, leather jacket, and umbrella, one on each hook. We're using the very top, tall hooks for the hats and whatnot and for one long winter coat that hangs by its hood. In other words, this thing can really hold tons of stuff, especially if you get a little creative (like stacking the hats together on one hook).

Unlike with wooden coat trees, I'm not at all concerned about the base splitting or the pegs coming out, and if it were to fall over, I don't really see how it could get damaged in the fall.

Technically, I'd rate this 4.5 stars simply because of the slight lean and the slight wobbliness, but as I said above, I am not worried that it can get tipped or wobbled far enough to actually fall over, even with all of our winter gear loaded onto it. The wobbliness has more to do with the lean than with anything being loose; it's like it is just flexible enough to bend a little without losing its balance.

Very pleased, especially for a $25 internet-ordered coat tree. I'd definitely recommend it to a friend.

I got this to help utilize the space in our entry when our kids friends (and ours) come over. I put it together in about 10 minutes with the easy instructions. You will need to have a screwdriver ready to use when you are putting it together. I am very happy with this, and am loving the style of it. It has 4 hooks near the middle of it (for little hands) and then 8 hooks at the top.

The rack appears to have feet much wider than the hooks, that is not the case. The hooks are the same width as the feet which makes it unstable. The shipping weight is listed as 10 lbs. The actual shipping weight, from the UPS label, is 5.0 lbs. It is not nearly as study as I expected. I've very disappointed.

I recieved my coat rack about a week after I ordered it, which is fine, but there was no hardware to put it together in the box. I contacted Athomemart and it took them a long time to get back with me, When I did finally get a response they said they would send out the hardware immediatly but they didnt and i waited thinking they are already sent but it never came. About a week goes by so I contacted Athomemart and they said there was some kind of mistake on there part and they are going to send it out right away and give me a refund on the shipping I paid. well another week goes by and i finally get the hardware, but they never gave me a refund. I waited 3 weeks for the coat rack after it was all said and done and they didnt compensate me for it one bit, after they said they were going to. I really doubt they even check there packages before they send them.
