Purchased this projector to replace an 8 year old Optoma model that was in need of repair. Due to expense and advances in technology, our church opted to replace rather than repair. The light output of this model is fantastic. In the past, we had to lower the stage lights so that the images and words on the screen could be seen properly. Not so with this unit. We can now leave the lights full up and still see the images and words all around the sanctuary. Our previous unit had been hung upside down on a ceiling mount, requiring the image to be rotated, and this unit served the purposes well. The skewing feature which allows the image to be adjusted for off-center projection is a real benefit and, as our mount is just slightly off-center with our screen, allowed us to align the image perfectly. It takes a bit to understand the setup and to grasp all the functions, so be prepared to spend some time studying the manual and working with the unit. The connectivity of this unit is unmatched, as far as we are concerned. There are so many inputs, outputs, and connection possibilities that I cannot imagine any scenario that this unit can't handle. To say the least, we are very pleased with our purchase and highly recommend this unit.

the product description says "Optoma X600, HD (1080p)." These are not full 1080. Its native resolution is 1024 x 768 (or 786,432 pixels). True 1080 would have a native resolution of 1920x1080 (or 2,073,600 pixels). If you are going to be projecting a large screen say 12 feet or more, your pixels will be huge with this projector.

It is very bright which i like, but the advertising is very deceptive. I returned and bought ViewSonic PRO8520HD High Bright Full HD 1080p DLP which is actually 1080

I purchased this projector because of the strong reviews and the number of lumens that it has. To be honest when it works it has a great picture and is very bright. The problem is "When it works". The first one we got worked for about 4 months and the HDMI ports went bad. So after some effort I was able to get an RMA number and received an Optoma Official refurbished unit. I got that unit in on a friday. Installed it on a Saturday. Used it on a Sunday and it worked great. On Wednesday of that same week after being off for 2.5 days it will not turn on. Green power light flashes and nothing happens (we checked the lamp/lamp bracket/power cycled). I spoke with Optoma and now I have to be sent projector #3. Tom at Optoma has been helpful. I just feel like I am 1600 in and still do not have a solid projector solution.

I just ordered a second one, as the first was so impressive. We have a large venue needing two projectors, this thing is perfect!

This projector is stunningly bright. We used it to fill the screen of a theater from a distance of about 75 feet. The image is rich and vivid.

EXCELLENT purchase. GET IT!

Wonderful projectors, no problems, I'm The IT and photographer for a large community center, I have a large studio, wow thrilled with it. Screen that I put together is 12' by 19' projector is around 25' from screen.
I can't find info on what 3d glasses it uses. Bought all kinds at best buy and returned them, they couldn't find the kind either. I'm using a play station 3, and 3d blue Rays.

I needed to quickly replace our church's projector. This new one is fantastic! It is brighter and lighter... and a good value for the price (considering the price point has come down 1/3 in the last 10 years.) (Prime shipping helped me get it during the week and install it so most people were never aware it had been replaced.)

This projector is very well equipped for a variety of applications especially in a large room or a room with a high level of ambient light. The 6000 lumen lamp and HDMI connections allow significant flexibility with input devices. The pricing was more than competitive compared to other projectors with similar features. Given a similar set of circumstances, I would buy the same projector without hesitation.

Outstanding quality. Used it with a rear projection screen outdoors just before sunset. Sky was still bright but this projector was brighter. Worked wonderfully.
