Computer science and physics have been closely linked since the birth of modern computing. 4.0 out of 5 stars Best book I know for this topic, December 12, 2008
This book is one of the few that tries to bring computer science and physics together and manages to tell us computer scientists about the physicists' ideas in an understandable way. There are many more books and articles that explain CS to physicists but to my knowledge this is the only one that goes the other way. Not everything is very easy to understand for someone not trained in physics but much better than in any other source I tried so far. The editors wrote a very nice introduction and really made every effort to present an interdisciplinary book, highly understandable for both communities. Since there is still some room for improvement for explaining the physics' concepts to computer scientists (but only in a monography, for such a collection the job was done in an awesome way) I give only four stars while stating clearly that it is the best book on the topic that is on the market so far.
