To begin I have already purchased three copies of this book in less than a month. The first was for myself the second two were gifts. I think this book is great for all ages and varying personality types (i.e. artsy, uptight, "no good at stuff like that", wild, vibrant, timid... ANYONE) I have always enjoyed doing creative things... this book has really shown me that I have been restricting myself and has pushed me out of my regular comfort zone. Sensory barriers have been tested for sure, which has not been an altogether unpleasant experience. I was definitely surprised by that! There is a limit to the growth that can happen in your safe, clean and cozy cocoon! Even though there are some kind of disgusting things going on in my journal... it keeps getting more and more pleasant aroma as different ingredients go into it. I also really enjoy how what you do with one page can literally spill over and effect other pages. I have been in this book every day since I got it, more than once a day. I will see something or think of something and say ooh I gotta grab the journal. Although I am working on the prompts in random order (or course) I found it helpful to skim through the "instructions" once through before I did anything else. It's really quite an experience and hopefully you learn things here that can open you up creatively or just breaking any perfectionist tendencies you may suffer. This is either the best or worst thing for OCD-types!!! Maybe the best and worst thing! Like I said, I think there is something to be found in this book/experience for absolutely anyone.

WARNINGS: This book may be seriously addictive to some users.

First off...yes, you can do these same exercises on your own with a normal journal - but why would you, everything is laid out pretty darn nifty here! Wreck this Journal was, and still is, amazingly fun. As a type-A neat freak artist who doesn't like having anything out of place, this really helped me get out of my "gotta keep everything looking perfect or it's not perfect" mentality. This book encourages you to let go and just be artistic. There's a number of activities that can be construed in different ways, and many of the activities involve cutting, dirtying, ripping pages out, drawing with reckless abandonment, and simply having fun doing art for the sake of doing art.

You don't have to go in order, if you do activities as you please, and while I'm able to sneak in some really nice pieces, I've also got in a few absolutely awful looking pages in there...and its ALL GOOD because when I look at them later, they are simply awesome. This is a great book to get people to just do art and have fun with it...once I finish this book, I'm getting another from this series...they're great!

OK so I do not even know where to begin with this! I am very sick in my life a lot of the time. I suffer with many things. Some of them include... lupus, fibrimyalgia, diabetes, and high blood pressure. I have two very young children. I saw some YouTube videos about these journals and I decided this would be great to do with my children. I wanted to do something creative and fun with them to leave behind a great memory of us together in case one day I may not be here any longer. I was spending a lot of time in bed before we got the journals spending hours on end on my smart phone and sort of ignoring everyday life around me. Well the journals have helped so much to pull me away from that and back to where I needed to be. Back into life and the world around me! After I started this journals with my little ones I decided to get some for my step children who are troubled teens and they are helping them immensely as well. I also got some for my husband. Everyone got one and they have been such a saving grace for us. They help in so many many ways. I feel like doing these has been a way to ground us all and pull us closer. This is a journey in life I will forever be great full for. Please please buy it and try it. It will change you in ways you never thought it could.

Such a fun book! I purchased one for myself and one for my daughter. I also belong to a Facebook group of journal wreckers. It is lots of fun to see what others do to their journals. I have not finished mine yet. Some pages are very difficult for me like rip this page. I ripped it but then had to tape it back together. I didn't like my page being ripped! Guess I need to loosen up!

I really don't understand the appeal of this book. I heard good things about it but NO! I thought it was going to be drawing prompts and things of that nature but one of them was "tie a rope around it and take the book for a walk" and "roll the book down a hill". Um...what?!?!? I don't know, maybe it's for children because I honestly cannot see a person over the age of 10 doing those things to a book. Pass!

My son showed me one of these at an overpriced souvenir store and begged for it. I immediately searched for it on Amazon (where it was a third of the cost). I ordered it and it was waiting for us when we got back from our trip, the next day. This is a really fun book. little activities to do in your spare time, and the result is really neat.
