From School Library Journal
PreSchool-Grade 1-With these six self-contained stories, Wells expands on Timothy Goes to School (Dutton, 1992). Each tale features a different animal character in a recognizable kindergarten situation. There are bullies; teasing; a birthday party; an onstage show; and classroom units on bugs, birds, measuring, and science-fair projects. These experiences ring true, except, perhaps, for the availability of a chemistry lab (usually associated with much older students) adjacent to the kindergarten classroom. Ultimately, these stories can reassure young children about school and help them negotiate situations that they may encounter. The text is aided by the warm, bright illustrations of softly textured, rounded furry creatures and homey backgrounds.
