Keeping track of what you eat is any easy way to avoid mindless munching.

Most diets ask their participants to keep a food journal, listing every item eaten and drunk. Linda Spangle, RN, MA, author of 100 Days of Weight Loss and weight loss coach, asks that a notebook be kept too. But hers is different. The 100 Days "magic" notebook should be used to write down a food, whenever you think about a particular desired food. Then plan to eat it at another time. If possible, include how much of it you'll eat and how often it will fit into your program. Even better, stretch apart the times you'll eat this food.

Over time, perhaps you'll find out that that certain foods aren't as appealing as they once were.

The skill you'll learn by keeping this type of notebook: When a food crosses my mind, I don't necessarily need to eat it.

I got this book a couple years ago and it has
been a mainstay in not only breaking bad food habits
but learning how to eat healthier and live my life
in more balance. What I love about Linda is how she writes
for the common person. No talking down to you or preaching...no over-the-top
medical terms that can boggle the mind--she tells it like it is...in
a down to earth and enjoyable manner which makes sense. And having a daily dose
of power...is all you sometimes need when you have alot of weight to lose
or just a few pounds. Ms. Spangle understands that it takes time to break
a bad (eating) habit and this little gem of a book will be one you keep when
you toss out all your other so called diet books--this isn't about a certain
diet, its about learning to live with food! Great purchase--both her books are!
I not only have them in book form...but this one in my Kindle as well!
