Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Leland Gregory once thought crooks, politicians, and lawyers were the greatest nitwits out there, but it turns out that the working masses are packed with the dumb, dumber, and dumbest humans on the face of the planet. Gregory's latest look at nincompoops, Idiots at Work: Chronicles of Workplace Stupidity, makes it crystal clear that the world's biggest jerks are on the job.Consider these examples: There was the woman who sued Eastman Kodak to improve the lighting conditions on her job ¿ in a darkroom? Then there's the Ontario Federation of Labor that installed a "bad boss" hotline to get a handle on labor problems - only to have the system crash soon after startup because too many calls came in. Or the interviewee who wore a Walkman, explaining that she could listen to interviewer and music at the same time. Gregory has made a career out of finding the imbeciles of the world and sharing their antics with the rest of us. His previous AMP humor compilations What's the Number for 911?, What's the Number for 911 Again?, The Stupid Crook Book, and Hey, Idiot have sold almost 200,000 copies, but his Idiots at Work takes the cake. Filled with hilarious tales of moronic managers, office idiots, stupid shareholders, daft decision makers, poor planners, and other outstanding examples of cubical klutzes, it could be Gregory's best book yet.

About the Author

Leland Gregory coauthored the New York Times best-seller America's Dumbest Criminals. He also wrote Great Government Goofs, Presumed Ignorant, and Presidential Indiscretions. Leland has long proven to be one of the best-selling non-cartoon humorists on the AMP list. The tireless promoter's appearances on radio and television programs, including high-profile spots such as the Today Show, continually draw record listener and viewer response.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Bedtime Reading, September 29, 2007

Do you get those emails about the silly things that people do at work? Basically this is a book that collects silly things that people do at work.

The book is set up with one page anecdotes. Some of them I found funny, some left me rolling my eyes, some did not effect me. To me, the best of this book come from company memos, but there are also a lot of the "a customer calls the help line and asks how to determine if a mouse pad is compatible with his computer." A lot of it is silly things that I've seen before.

On the plus side the book is an easy read and did provide me with several smiles and a few laughs.

A hilarious look at the "intelligence" of the some of the people in the workforce. How they stay employed is a mystery to all of us. In reading this book, you will invariably say, "I know that person," or "I have worked with that person."
