Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 3-5?Young performers are introduced to various aspects of this centuries-old art form-makeup, costume, movement, mime, juggling, and props-in a colorful, simple, step-by-step format. Full-color photographs, reproductions, and drawings personalize the techniques outlined and add interest. The face painting is challenging and may require some adult help.?Pamela K. 5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful resource book for children., March 4, 1999
By JoanneTMS@aol.com (East Windsor, New Jersey USA) - See all my reviews
I am a clown and I train young people age 10 to 15 to be clowns. I use this book as a text book for my clown training course. It gives many wonderful ideas and has simple to follow directions. This books covers the history of clowning, costumes, makeup, juggling, mime, props, and types of clowns. It is a wonderful first book for children who want to become clowns.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent reference, February 21, 1998
By A Customer
As a clown I have recommended this book many times to children that show an interest in becoming a clown. The illustrations are very clear, the ideas are doable and gives a real feel for being a clown. A good beginning book for clowns of all ages.
