It's self promotion, but it has great intention, although being pretentious. I lke the boldness of Stefan and this one shows it a lot. It's definetely someone over the line

Sagmeister is the man. Artist first and graphic designer second. He has great concepts and the reputation and weight to get them executed. I also found the things he learned to be insightful and in very short and digestible summaries. You won't regret buying this.

I like the Idea of this book... (actually its a collection of short paper back books) which show several designs based on the writings of Sagmeister. The book(s) are each unique and the subject matter varies from booklet to booklet. I would suggest this if you are INTERESTED in Sagmeister and his philosophies.

Don't buy this if you are looking for samples of graphic design, Even though this is inspiring, it may not be what you are looking for. I would suggest "Made you look" if you are interested purely in his work.

That being said, I personally enjoyed this book very much and am very pleased with my purchase.

What a great surprise to find several books encased together - each filled with a visual representations of one of Stefan's lessons in life. Each lesson is uniquely made, from billboards, to snails, to sugar, his quotes are composed typographically in the most unexpected ways. The book covers for each lesson make an interesting look for his face when interchanged with the die cut cover. If you are a fan, you will look at these books over and over and wonder how he thought of some of these. Some will make you laugh and some might gross you out, but each are completely interesting.

I had a hard time liking this title because it seemed like it could have been more. Perhaps if I made it to his gallery show I could have felt that I connected to its vision. It is beautifully designed, all there with the big named photographers, artists, illustrators, etc. But I was left wishing that there was more that I could have gotten. It felt like a sidekick companion than the entree.

Stefan Sagmeister is a big influence in the design industry and this clever book is a fine example of that. Not only am I impressed with the content, but the presentation and print quality of the book. This is a cool book too for younger kids. Neat pictures!

Stefan Sagmeister is a legend of design and I actually have no regrets with the purchase, but I was disappointed when I received my pre-ordered copy. I opened the box with youthful enthusiasm, removed the outer cover and out spilled numerous booklets. It was not what I was expecting. It was immediately clear that the booklets could be made to interact with the cover box and create a nice tabletop display. It is not a book in the traditional linear fashion, which should come as no surprise; however, it seems like it is trying too hard to be different. You can be the judge as to whether or not it succeeded. Designers will enjoy it and it is a pretty neat little book - it will look cool on your desk and cover swapping can give you something to do when you need a break.
