Product Description

The Complete Book of Spells, Ceremonies & Magic is the most comprehensive reference for all of the major branches of magic. Written by the internationally famous occult scholar and practitioner Migene Gonzalez-Wippler, this is the best introduction to magic from all over the world that has ever been published.

In the pages of this book you will learn about the magical systems of cultures old and new, on every inhabited continent. Revealed here are the secrets of the native magicians in India, Africa, North and South America, China, Japan, Australia and Europe. You will also learn about ancient systems of magic, including systems from Egypt, Persia, Greece, Rome and more.

But this is not just a book about magic. It is also about how to do magic. Do you want to learn how to do the Tarot or palmistry? The instructions are in here. Do you want to learn how to use the classic grimoires? Complete instructions for their use, including full evocations, are included. You will also learn about mantras, concentration, visualization, meditation, kundalini, sex magic, mental projection, clairvoyance and telepathy.

This book includes spells from all over the world, including spells for love, wealth, health and protection. It also shows you how to use the Kabbalah and the astral plane for magical purposes. You'll learn the secrets of ceremonial magic and low magic, the Grimoire of Pope Honorius and how to make and use talismans and magical squares. The book includes the meanings for hundreds of images seen in dreams as interpreted in several systems.

If you are looking for a book that will give you information about virtually every major magical system of the past and present, this book is a must. It will not only help you understand what others do, but also help you extend your own knowledge and abilities. If you do magic, or would like to learn to do magic, get this book.

From the Publisher

Every once in a while a book comes out that is so good it makes people pay attention. Migene Gonzalez-Wippler's The Complete Book of Spells, Ceremonies & Magic is one of those books. When it first appeared it received wide acclaim in the U.S. and in England. I still have my original copy.

But as frequently happens with even the best of books, it went out of print. When it became available to be republished, I enthusiastically went for it! Migene writes that her intention in writing this book was "to show the importance of the practice of magic in the development of the human psyche. I don't believe in the supernatural. I believe in nature and all things natural. Everything that happens in this world always happens through natural channels and in accordance with immutable cosmic laws." This book may well be the ultimate proof of that belief.

This is an amazing cross-cultural compendium of magic, theory, ritual, spells and lore. If you do magic, it will give you new directions and techniques that can advance and enhance what you do. If you would like to know about magic, this book presents the subject from the viewpoint of not only a scholar, but a practitioner. And for people interested in native cultures around the world, this book is also an invaluable resource.

In these pages you will learn all of the basics of magic, from meditation and astral projection to evocation of spirits. It covers methods of divination and the Kabbalah as well as folk magic spells for health, wealth, prosperity and romance.

I highly recommend this book. If you are a magician it simply must be among your collection of books. I know you will refer to is frequently. Get this book to advance your knowledge and your magic!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Read, December 10, 1999

Not a recipe book for spells or a grand grimore, but this book is excellent for its diversity. An absolute must for beginners, and enjoyable for adepts.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is what it says, but not what it seems., August 22, 1998
By A Customer
Be aware that this is not a grimoire! This is an excellent book for someone who is exploring the world of magick, but is not Wiccan. Even if you are unsure, this book is great, as it places no real leanings towards any one religion (Well, maybe there is a little emphasis on the Kabbalistic system). All to often, I find that most books on magick are strongly intertwined with Wicca, and it is hard to get a good broad view of magick without the religious touting. This book provides a comprehensive study of magick through history, the parts it played in different cultures, and it outlines many different practices. A great starting text!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not What I Was Expecting..., April 25, 2000
By "miss_witch" (San Francisco, California) - See all my reviews
I borrowed it from a friend, and was supprised to find that it didn't have as many spells as I thought it might. Most of it is just the History, and education on Witches. There are some spells in it, but none of them were really what I was looking for. Most of them are too extreme; like, if you WANTED to break up a boyfriend and a girlfriend, all it had was a spell for breaking up a marridge. Or if you wanted to cast a spell on someone, She would use rare words, some of which i couldn't even understand ( and i have used MANY books before). All im saying is that the book isn't totally complete with everything that someone would need. If you are looking for an educational book, with a little bit of over exadurated, strange, mis-understandable words in it, then buy this book, but if you are looking for a complete book of spells, don't.
