From Library Journal
A professional chef who runs a bed-and-breakfast in Half Moon Bay, CA, Mickelsen has led a life that most people can only dream about. In this follow-up to her Camping Your Way Through Europe, she once again shares her secrets on how to get the most out of 21 countries in Europe, ranging from France to Slovenia, without spending a fortune. (Only about ten percent of the material in this book can be found in the previous book.) The way to go, she advises, is car camping, a travel method that involves renting a car, stocking it with some well-chosen supplies, practicing common sense for safety, and never ceasing to be amazed at what each country has to offer. Mickelsen doesn't hesitate to use adjectives such as exhilarating, magical, majestic, and exotic to describe her adventures. But these are not just filler words they provide a glimpse into the joy and passion that this enthusiastic traveler brings with her on her travels. Indeed, her love for exploring the unknown is infectious, and anyone who reads this book will be tempted to follow in her car tracks. Highly recommended for all public libraries. Joseph L.
