4.0 out of 5 stars Mixed bag, but overall definitely worth it, June 11, 2008

(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
This recent (2007) anthology of flash fiction, edited by Peter Wild, collects some really interesting American and British writers (this is a British project) including Rick Moody, Nicholas Royle, Joel Lane, Jonathan Lethem, Katherine Dunn, Michel Faber, Jeff Vandermeer, Paul di Filippo, Barry Yourgrau, Aimee Bender, Jeffrey Ford, and a whole lot of other writers--there's a total of 100 stories here. While Rick Moody's story kind of left me scratching my head, overall this is a very strong anthology. Sure, there are a few bumps and misses and clunks here and there, but for the most part this is a great group of pieces.

Definitely one of the best recent anthologies of contemporary flash fiction. Another interesting one will be forthcoming later in 2008 or early 2009...(you'll just have to see which one that is...)

In the meantime, grab this one. It's worth it.
