About the Director
In the past 15 years, Ance has interviewed hundreds of leaders from all walks of life, including the President and Vice President of the United States, numerous Senators and Defense Department Officials, and key personalities from the business, non-profit and entertainment worlds. He has also filmed extensively around the world in a dozen countries on four continents, including Cuba, Cambodia, China, Vietnam, India, and East Africa.<P> He started his production career with the Christian Broadcasting Network, writing and producing a two-hour television special on the history of the United States called Victory in Spite of All Terror. <P> In 1997, Ance joined forces with Dr. Bill Bright, Founder of Campus Crusade, to co-author Red Sky in the Morning, a book and video series detailing the story of America from Christopher Columbus to modern times. Nearly 70,000 hardbound copies of the book were distributed, including hand delivered copies to President Clinton, Members of Congress, and Governors across the country.<P> Ance is an accomplished cinematographer, film/video editor and screenwriter and spends all of his efforts now building 45 North Communications. Most recently, he was the Producer/Director for three national network television specials; Arlington: In Eternal Vigil, The Medal, and A Nation Remembers: The Story of the Pentagon Memorial.<P>

A Nation Remembers: The Story of the Pentagon Memorial tells the powerful story of America s first National 9/11 Memorial and the families behind its development. The program spotlights the Pentagon Memorial, in all stages of construction through completion, as a backdrop for telling the stories of the men and women who gave their lives, and the families who lost so much.<P>The Pentagon Memorial serves as both a reminder and a place of healing for the nation and for those whose lives were reshaped by the events of September 11, 2001.<P>As such, it is an issue of national importance that as many Americans as possible are able to join in the remembrance and tribute this Memorial offers, but the fact remains that most will never have the opportunity to see these grounds first hand. It is, therefore, an altogether fitting extension of the Memorial to take a piece of that sacred ground directly into the homes of millions of Americans through the powerful media of television and Home DVD.<P>The Pentagon Memorial Documentary Special does just that. This one-hour television special and extended Home DVD, hosted by actor Gary Sinise, was shot entirely in beautiful High Definition, and features an original score by Emmy Award winning composer David Barrett.<P>The film includes original interviews with President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Richard Myers, Senator Joe Lieberman, and a host of other governmental and Defense Department leaders. Central to the film are original interviews with a host of surviving family members who lost loved ones at the Pentagon on 9/11, all interwoven with a stirring narrative designed to tell the highly personal stories of those who sacrificed while offering viewers the broader context in terms of great themes from the American story. The film serves as both a lasting tribute and a means of preserving history for generations to come.<P>As part of the Official Dedication Ceremonies for the Memorial on September 11, 2008, 20,000 copies of A Nation Remembers were distributed to the invited guests and dignitaries. The program is currently airing across the country on broadcast affiliates. (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX)<P>
