Review

"..Utterly fantastic. It is not often that I come across a nonfiction 'how to' book that is beautifully constructed....I think you have a real winner here!" --Elizabeth Lesser, author of Broken Open and The Seekers Guide

Product Description

What makes a speaker riveting? What makes an audience come alive? This book answers these questions by looking beyond the mechanics of speaking; by delving into the mysteries of charisma, and into the source of our own inspiration. It reveals the two most important secrets to public speaking. It reveals that how we see the world is how the world sees us. And if we wish to sparkle at the podium, we must be true to ourselves, for only then can we be true in the spotlight.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not Just for Public Speakers..., September 24, 2009
By L. Aprile (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: More Than Words Can Say (Paperback)
More Than Words Can Say could be an apt title for this review, as the experience of reading this book is more delicious than I can accurately describe. Though I'll go ahead and try...

Though Ms. Shakin uses the art of public speaking as a lens through which to communicate her ideas, this book is not just for those interested in public speaking. This book is for anyone interested in deepening their connection to themselves and their own unique, authentic, voice.

As an actress, as a woman, as a seeker, I have found this book to be an invaluable resource. I turn to it when I need to be reminded what it means to be silent, what it means to communicate deeper truths, and what it means to be connected to myself. I treat the reading of it as a meditation on meeting myself, and it has quickly become a cherished addition to my personal library.

I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in looking at themselves and their personal journey in a new and unexpected way.

Thank you, Saskia!

5.0 out of 5 stars Shakin Stops the Shaking, June 21, 2010
By DMZ (Hudson Valley, New York United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: More Than Words Can Say (Paperback)
Saskia Shakin's book, More Than Words Can Say, is like the woman herself. Alive, authentic, articulate, and connected. I can imagine no better combination than reading her book and hiring her for public speaking assistance to complete the circle of powerful, vibrant, communicative conversations whether they be one-on-one or to large groups. You can count on Shakin to stop the shaking.
