Editorial Reviews

Product Description

This is life: noisy, dirty, dangerous. And it s the best we get in this fast-paced, hard-nosed, crazy-making world. But is there more than chaos, commotion and calamity? Is there some majesty even in the dust?

In this unique compilation of journey notes, new author Krista Finch asks these questions, speaking honestly about herself and the world around her. With curiosity and passion, she digs into ordinary moments for the truth about awakening and reawakening. Brokenness and beauty. Ruins and restoration. And what she keeps finding in the clumps and clods is nothing short of glory.

About the Author

Krista Finch has been writing for 15 years, and As Is is her first published book. Her Midwestern, nuclear family upbringing feels familiar to many readers, but so does her fiery sarcasm, sharp wit, and unique angle on life.

Krista lives a simple life with her husband in Nashville, TN, where they devour books, create art, laugh with friends, and linger over homemade pizza and delicious conversation.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than worth it!, March 24, 2009
By B. Alex "mescea" (Nashville, TN) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I obtained my first copy at a release party in Nashville where the author was present to read excerpts from her new book "As Is". I was so thrilled with the author, the excerpts and the book itself that I quickly bought another copy online for a friend! You will not be disappointed with this earthy, raw but sophisticated, collection of memoir, reflection, and musing that brings into sharp focus the mundane of everyday life - which enthuses as it soothes. I highly recommend "As Is" as more than worth it! You will want to buy another for a friend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely insightful and unique. Great perspective every day life., May 3, 2009
"As Is" provides a unique perspective on life, finding valuable lessons in some of the most common circumstances. We usually miss the opportunity to learn from our relationships and every-day occurrences. "As Is" is a great reminder to not let those opportunities pass us by. I'm looking forward to more from Krista Finch. Really makes you think. Love her style and the way she finds the uncommon in the common.

5.0 out of 5 stars As Is, April 25, 2009
By Lissa "movie buff" (Winnipeg Manitoba Canada) - See all my reviews
This book is sweet - it makes you remember/think of all the good, all the GOD in life/lives. I was smiling, crying, and laughing by the 2nd page! I love it and will keep it and re-read it many times.
