Susan and Kiaya embark on a journey with Brayton Alexander, StarDawn and Ryska, two elves who Kiaya was raised with, and Shodakon, a ShadowWalker whose sole purpose in this adventure is to create problems for both sides of good and evil. The small group goes in search of a set of daggers that will enable the two girls to bring back magic into the world. With the aid of a pair of unicorns, the girls learn who they are, where they come from, and why they are both so important to the realm.
