5.0 out of 5 stars This book will save you money and precious time., February 7, 2009
By D. R. Wood (Jackson, TN USA) - See all my reviews

I thought that I, as a mother of seven children who have grown to be fine adults, had learned everything possible about organizing for and with the kids. What a surprise! Not only did I find all of the ideas that I already had used, but a few more that I had never thought of. I also must say that when I was a third grade public school teacher, I saw many children struggle with schoolwork because their disorderly lives had them on constant mental overload. Lea shows you how to create the kind of order that will allow your kids to thrive and bring more peace into your home. Highly recommended!

This book is fabulous! We need a guide for our children and grandchildren to grow up with some organizational skills in their lives...Leading the hectic lifestyles that most families do in this fast-paced society, helping children learn to be organized contributes to their sense of control when it comes to managing and prioritizing their daily existence..this book has everything needed to accomplish that goal! It also offers these guidelines in easy to learn and apply format..and it's so rewarding when you see these guidelines implemented for a much less stressful daily life for everyone!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great resource for moms!, November 19, 2009
My life can get chaotic. I love my kiddos, and I thank God for them, but if I don't stay organized things get out of hand quickly. I am usually pretty good about this, but there are times when the laundry is piled high, there's toys strewn down the hallway, and we're late (again) for some appointment. So, when I got the chance to check out Growing-Up Organized, I thought it could only help, right?

I anxiously turned straight to the chapter entitled, "Children's Closets", and learned that there were some very easy changes I could make that would help me grab the reigns back from the clutter monster taking up residence in my girls' closet. By adding a second bar and using hooks on the closet door itself, I can relieve some of the clutter and add extra storage space. There are 24 chapters in all, each addressing a different organizing issue. The book is not meant to be read through cover to cover, but to be used as a resource as needed for moms. Its' designed so you can turn to a what chapter you need, when you need it, and find the help you are looking for. There are also worksheets in the back to work through some of your organizing problems, as well as a whole chapter with links to online resources as well as great books to read to your children to spark conversations about organizing. Organized children grow up to be organized adults. From children's bedrooms to being prepared for a disaster, there is so much information packed into this book. I also really enjoyed the little Mom-to-Mom Tips scattered throughout the book, as well as the humor like this:

"Are you living in C.H.A.O.S.? Can't Have Anybody Over Syndrome"
