How to Be a Geek Goddess "proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Christina Tynan-Wood totally 'gets' where men and women divide in terms of technology."

5.0 out of 5 stars Geek Goddesses Unite!, December 28, 2008
This review is from: How to Be a Geek Goddess: Practical Advice for Using Computers with Smarts and Style (Paperback)
How To Be A Geek Goddess is a helpful and practical guide to most everything tech. It is well written, entertaining and if not comprehensive, I couldn't find a major area Tynan-Wood missed. From picking out the right computer and setting up a home network, to using the Internet for personal and professional use, How To Be A Geek Goddess is a handy reference guide for women of all ages.

And beyond just the technical parts, there are "Dear Geek Goddess" letters on some of the social aspects to technology and technical problems, guides to managing your finances, email, protecting your children online, even how to find old friends or a date. Many of the suggestions aren't just to save you time or effort, but could save you money (and if you use the chapter on using the Internet for phone service, you'll probably save more than the cost of the book.) Highly recommended for anyone (male or female) wanting to understand a bit more about technology, and how to make it easier.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Book Has it ALL!, February 16, 2009
This review is from: How to Be a Geek Goddess: Practical Advice for Using Computers with Smarts and Style (Paperback)
This is a great book! It DOES tell you everything you need to know before purchasing techy stuff. I love the format, the "Dear Geek Goddess" letters make it a really entertaining read. Also, the chapters on protecting your kids when they are online are just priceless. Every mom should read that part! I would highly recommend this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars you don't have to be a geek or a goddess..., April 13, 2009
This review is from: How to Be a Geek Goddess: Practical Advice for Using Computers with Smarts and Style (Paperback)
....to appreciate this book. you don't even have to be a woman. though it's aimed specifically at women of a certain age, HTBAGG offers tons of info even blustery pompous men could use -- like how and where to set up a home computer, ways to save money shopping online, and the like. all written in a breezy informative style that lets you dip in at any point and pull out helpful stuff. (and yes, I do happen the know the author personally -- but it's still a fine book.)
