Product Description

Dante’s Inferno: Is It Real? Author Describes Nightmare of Unimaginable Proportions—His Near-Death Experience in HELL

LONGWOOD, FL—The myriad of current Near-Death Experience literature seems to indicate that all will end up in a heaven-like state without consequence. According to this theory, even the most evil persons will. Is this true or not? Can we believe these NDEs are from God, or another source? Why do so few NDEs report a negative experience? Are the accounts from people who claim to have seen hell during a near-death occurrence genuine or mere imaginings? In today’s busy modern world, the voices of the "experts" are drowning out the voices of those who have had real near-death experiences. Can one unknown voice of experience shout loud enough in this world to be heard? A Land Unknown by B.W. Melvin explores these questions and more from a personal eyewitness to hell. This astonishing true story will make an indelible imprint upon the mind and spirit of the reader. In this age of cynicism, Melvin seeks to promote hope to a confused and cantankerous world, in the same way that Dante did in his time.

Containing scenes of the afterlife once repudiated as untrue and mythical, A Land Unknown: Hell's Dominion (November, $13.99, 1-59781-380-X) by B.W. Melvin paints a vivid portrayal of what actually does lie beyond the grave. The descriptions of hell are incredibly detailed. Melvin encountered demonic creatures only imagined by horror movie screenwriters. References to the circular "pit" of Hades and the doomed trapped in their "cubes" abound in this fascinating account. What he witnessed was so mesmerizing and so dreadful it is sure to engage even the experts for years to come. Melvin’s previously antagonistic positions concerning God—His fairness, His justice, His very existence, and why evil exists—are turned upside down. Melvin hopes readers will gain insight into the nature of our behavior and how our actions can impose eternal consequences upon us. Each person born has responsibilities both to God and man. Readers will also discover Jesus Christ in a new, dynamic way. This story of a personal near-death experience by a once atheistic-agonistic man will leave the reader spellbound.

B.W. Melvin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in social work, with emphasis on community corrections and human enrichment, from Colorado State University. This served him well, as he worked with troubled teens and the disabled. He has been an active evangelical Christian for the past twenty-four years and studied Christian theology extensively. Melvin is also contracted as project coordinator for a computer game company. The former director of Freedom Fellowship Prison Ministries, he has been a volunteer with the ministry for over ten years, teaching Christian doctrine as well as giving testimony of his amazing story with great evangelical effect. As a volunteer with Freedom Fellowship, he received numerous volunteer awards for faithful service. Melvin and his family live in Fort Collins, Colorado.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read - Terrifying Account, April 17, 2006
By Nunnelly "Robert" (Colorado Springs) - See all my reviews
More descriptive than "23 Minutes in Hell" book by Bill Wiese, A Land Unknown Hell's Dominion takes the reader on a trip to the underworld in vivid details. Both authors Bill Wiese and B. W. Melvin describe Hell. Comparing the two books, IMHO, "A Land Unknown Hell's Dominion," contains more vivid imagery than the other. These two books are fascinating reading together.

Is it a perfect book? No. But it is an excellent read that will make one ponder his or her eternity and seek to improve his or her life now. Life is short, eternity is longer. The author brings out that point clearly in a land unknown.

I recommend adding, "A Land Unknown Hell's Dominion" and `23 Minutes in Hell" to your personal library. However, when one reads these styles of books - one must take the proverbial grain of salt and match judge by the bible what the authors claim to have seen.

I fond it ironic how both books describes the same place and the demonic host there, both authors saw cells and ghastly beings inside a pit as the Old Testament describes. I was left with the impression that they both saw the same place and verify each other. Overall, a great read and worth adding to your personal library.

I also recommend reading, "Hell Under Fire" as a scholarly alternative that verifies these eyewitness accounts of the hereafter of the lost.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book will inspire repentance!, June 7, 2006
As a pastor and theologian, I have a keen interest in all doctrinal matters, and one of the most fascinating (and sobering) is the dogma of hell. I picked up this book a few weeks ago and finally sat down to read it and could not put it down until I finished it. I hold a doctorate in theology and this book offers one of the most detailed insights into the nature of hell that I have ever read. Based on the private revelation of one man's personal journey through "A Land Unknown," it provides the reader with cogent reasons for hell's existence, the nature of its pains, its inhabitants and the sins that brought them there, and how its existence can be reconciled with a God of love and mercy. Be forewarned, this is no light fare and will inspire at least imperfect contrition. See you all in church on Sunday!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Changed Life, December 26, 2005
When I read this book it was hard to believe this really happened to someone and they lived to tell about it. It is a fascinating book that makes you realize that life is precious and we should make the best of it while we can. The book is hard to put down once you start reading it. It is full of suspense and mystery and is very thought provoking. Read with care; it may change your life.
