Product Description

Sophia Kessler, who once excited gentlemen with her erotic fan dancing, ended her days alone in a dreary hotel room. The police discovered 79-year-old Franklin White locked in a small shed, nearly starved to death. Jacob Morningside thought he would end his lonely days in a nursing home, abandoned by his family. When multibillionaire William Walker opens his mansion for these and other elderly guests, even a century-old mystery, romantic intrigue, bigamy, and a serial killer can't disturb the safe haven he has created for the lonely, the abused, and the overlooked.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Book!, April 11, 2007

J.A. Buxton writes a riviting story. She sets believable characters in real situations and draws the reader in. I received this book and read it in one night. I quite literraly could not put it down. I am waiting for for the contination of the story. I cannot wait to see what Walker gets into this time.

Another selling point of Ms. Buxtons writing is that it is light. Not as in there is no depth to the story but in the sense that she did not have to use foul language and graphic sences to get the story to move along.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome storyteller, November 5, 2006
This book was such a delight to read. The story flies and when you get to the end of the book you wish there was more. I hope there are several sequels to follow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't put it down!, January 8, 2007
WOW! This book has to be the "sleeper of the year". It's the story you never want to end! Like me, you will be anxiously awaiting the sequel(s). Ms. Buxton's characters come alive and literally jump off the pages and into your life. She quickly draws you into a story of innocent romance and intriguing mystery. Her use of subtlety and succinctness with a healthy dose of `down-to-earth' family values (not often found in books today) makes this an excellent read. I heartily recommend this book for pre-teens (10-15) as well as adults. A definite winner!

1.0 out of 5 stars ugh.
Give me a break. The writing is trite, short sighted and amature at best. She is fully incapable of writing a chapter of any substance and her methods are manipulative and cheap... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Leave you wanting more
Ms Buxton blows the roof off with her intricate detail of her characters. She is a story-teller that ranks with the "big boys." I didn't want the story to end... Read more
