Whether or not snarky insults can ever be deemed as acceptable all depends on your personal point of view, but author Lawrence Dorfman's The Snark Handbook: Insult Edition does make a compelling case in their favor in this book, another in his Snark Series, acclaimed by curmudgeons and literary wits alike.

For those who may be unfamiliar with the term, snark is a noun, meaning biting wit, or snide remarks. Snarkiness would be the quality of being snarky. Some call it sarcasm, but that sounds too mild. In any case, Lawrence Dorfman is the master of snark.

This Kindle edition propels the reader immediately into what appears to be a meaningless jumble of short jabs and unattributed snarky insults, such as these:

◆ A sharp tongue is no indication of a keen mind. ◆ Everyone is gifted. Some open the package sooner. ◆ It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others. ◆ You fill a much-needed gap. ◆ You have the Midas touch. Everything you touch turns to muffler. ◆ If he were any more stupid, he'd have to be watered twice a week. ◆

Bullets separate them, just as seen above, and they go on for pages. This may be unnerving and quite random to some readers, but just persevere and you'll soon get to the meat of this book.

◆ He has a mechanical mind. He just forgot to wind it up this morning. ◆ He smells the coffee, but can't find the pot. ◆ He would be out of his depth in a parking-lot puddle. ◆ He'd steal the straw from his mother's kennel. ◆ He's got that faraway look. This is not very good. Not very funny. There are only about a handful of useful ones. You have better luck finding better stuff off the internet for free.

It has many spelling errors and at some points you say "is that even a sentence?"

I got this for my brother in law who is 14 and he loved it.

If you are an adult... skip it. You are better off just surfing the web and kicking a good kick out of online articles.
