Great overview of the history, problems, and techniques used in the field of artificial intelligence. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a broad and fast introduction to the field.

4.0 out of 5 stars Back to the basics, April 13, 2002
By "wizard-works" (University of Michigan) - See all my reviews
I was looking for a book that anyone could read, and I found it. The math is minimal, the concepts understandable, and the illustrations add to the understanding. If you're looking to start making talking, thinking machines, look elsewhere. But if you want to gain an understanding of the basis for artificial intelligence, this is a place to start.
