3.0 out of 5 stars I agree about the diversity of the book, July 1, 2006
By Natalie B (Colorado) - See all my reviews
My children are not white, so teaching them that America is "me" is a bit misleading when their little faces don't match the body of the picture. It would be really nice if the book came in a few different ethnicities BECAUSE America is NOT white, it's a lot of different races and colors. There is nothing racist about wanting your child to feel included in a book that is supposed to be about them. I don't expect anyone to understand my viewpoint if their child is included on the book.

3.0 out of 5 stars doesn't look white to me, June 30, 2006
I don't have the book but I can't believe your review. I can see the cover and the boy doesn't look white. It's a book, if you don't like it don't buy it. There are plenty of books out there.

4.0 out of 5 stars so..., June 30, 2006
that review about the boy not looking white is horrible. what if it was a book about being an animal in america? if there was a koala in the book that you could put your childs face on would you not let him/her because koalas are from austrailla? people are different colors, get over it. america is full of all kinds of people, get over it. if you dont like it, leave.

1.0 out of 5 stars Insanely ethnocentric
Every child in this book looks like a little white boy. What if a little African American girl wants to be pasted into the picture where she gets to be President? Read more
