Product Description
A Collection of Wisdom contains over 600 pages of the world's greatest wisdom and teachings from people, quotes, classical texts, philosophies, cultures, folktales, and proverbs.

The book captures the essence of an amazing abundance and variety of the universe's wisdom, and puts it in an unparalleled level of clarity, efficiency, and accessibility.

From the teachings of Confucius to the proverbs of Africa; from Cyrus the Great's Human Rights Charter to Sun Tzu's The Art of War; from the Mulla Nasrudin Tales to the Lakota Native American cultural teachings; from The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli to lessons based on the life of Oprah Winfrey; from the business methods of Andrew Carnegie to the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche; and from the best of La Rochefoucauld to the best of Zen Buddhism--there is almost no stone A Collection of Wisdom leaves unturned in its 608 pages and 72 chapters.

A Collection of Wisdom masterfully organizes material, summarizes books, makes simple explanations, uses clear modern English translations of foreign material, makes the obscure clear, and takes out irrelevant and redundant information.

The result is a book that is more useful than a stack of typical self-help books, more interesting than a collection of conventional philosophy books, and more captivating and informative than a pile of quote and proverb books.

A Collection of Wisdom is sure to be the centerpiece in anyone's personal bookshelf.

5.0 out of 5 stars Condenses the greatest morsels of the world's wisdom, October 30, 2004
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
Exhaustively compiled, deftly organized, and capably edited by Rodney Ohebsion, A Collection Of Wisdom is a succinct guide that condenses the greatest morsels of the world's wisdom, teachings, quotes, and folktales into simple statements and sentences that anyone can readily grasp. From the insights of Sun Tzu to the ponderings of Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau, to proverbs from every region of the world and insights from almost every major religion and much more, A Collection of Wisdom is a solid compendium of life lessons and quotable quotes. Highly recommended for its inspiration and guidance, whether one looks up a specific individual's words, turns to a random page, or reads A Collection of Wisdom from cover to cover straight through.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Most Important Book Ever Written, July 30, 2004
By Jt Jones (Tampa, FL) - See all my reviews
I cannot even begin to describe how much I enjoyed this book. This is beyond a doubt the greatest book ever. There is just so much excellent stuff in here. Reading this book is like an endlessly fascinating and mind-expanding journey. Whether you want to learn about Machiavellian strategy, Chinese philosophy, human rights, philisophical stories, wisdom of religions, sun tzu art of war strategy, etc, its all in here. I have already purcahsed 10 copies and given them out as gifts. This is the kind of book you should keep your nightstand and read several times a day. It really captures thousands of years of the world's wisdom. It was written by the entire world, and put in to masterful format by Rodney Ohebsion.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Collection!!!, January 16, 2005
To quote Leonardo da Vinci, "Wisdom is the daughter of experience." In this book you will find the wisdom of many experienced people which suits the title "A Collection of Wisdom".

The book offers wisdom from people over generations of time. Have you ever read a quote and wondered about the person who said it? The one thing that makes this book different from other quote books is the research and the information about the authors of the quotes, and the time period that the quote was said. It is interesting reading the quotes written many hundreds of years ago and seeing their relevance in today's society.

It offers wisdom from a wide variety of individuals, to name only a few: Voltaire, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Andrew Carnegie, Helen Keller, Mary Kay Ash, Oprah Winfrey. Plus it offers quotes from athletes, sports coaches and many others.

There is a section on Proverbs of the world, a folktale section, and a religious section.

For those who love quotes, "A Collection of Wisdom" will be one that you will pick up and not want to put down until you are finished reading it! The book is filled with inspiring and motivating quotes. It is also a book that you can pick up and read when you have a quiet moment.

"A Collection of Wisdom" would be a great addition to anyone's library. Whether you are making a speech, writing a paper, trying to make a point, or just want to be inspired, the material in this book will assist you.

In our opinion, it truly is one of the best books of Wisdom on the market!
