Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The Sportline 355 Pulse pedometer features a sophisticated "averaging" pulse monitor as well as an exercise pedometer. It accurately measures the distance and records the steps that you've walked or jogged. It measures up to 1,000 miles/kilometers in 1/100 (0.01) increments and can easily change the display between miles and kilometers. In addition to distance traveled and steps taken, the 355 also displays the calories you burn. Other features include a time-of-day clock, stopwatch, and a flipcover that protects the function buttons. It's powered by a replaceable CR2032 battery.

Editorial Review

Recreational walking and jogging are more popular than ever, and this handy pedometer lets you know how you're doing on that fitness program. Being so small, easily fitting in the palm of your hand, it's almost surprising how many features are included. It measures both distance and steps, takes your pulse, tells time, and includes a stopwatch figure all in a large, easy-to-read LED display. A clip lets you attach the pedometer to a belt, and a cover keeps the information private. --John Moe

This pedometer is made by Sportsline, a leading manufacturer of pedometers, digital stopwatches, and similar items. In no way can this be considered a toy. It is a precision instrument and should be treated as such.

The Polar Pulse Pedometer counts steps & miles, has both a countdown timer and stopwatch (as well as time-of-day) and a calorie counter. The large digital display is easily read from belt-level.

The pulse meter is easy to use and accurate (I tested it against a blood-pressure monitor). The finger sensor is conveniently located so it's easy to check your pulse without missing a stride. This unit is of great help in my cardiac rehab.

I have used my Sportline Pulse Pedometer 355 for four days and the [flimsy] plastice belt clip has already broken. The device itself is fine, but the belt clip is a piece of [junk]. Do not purchase this item!

1.0 out of 5 stars Returning it, July 21, 2005

The large display and spring-type belt clip (on the model 355 I bought)are pluses. It is easy to read and accurate, if you don't walk/run with a long shirttail hanging over your belt. The BIG negative for me is I can't reset it to Zero without using a separate tool because the button is way too small and has to be pushed below the surface to operate.
