Met them at a restaurant, bought their CD and loved it!, December 14, 2003
These guys came into my restaurant just after midnight on a snowy night in New Hampshire and ordered up a bunch of food. Turns out they had just completed a show at a college and were trying to decide whether or not to head back to NYC or wait out the snow storm. Being a music fan in general, I asked to buy a copy of the CD, never having heard them before. Quite frankly I was astounded by what I heard on my ride home. These guys are top-notch and extremely talented. Their music is original and their sound is full and rich, crafted by masterful guitar talent, precision percussion and bass and powerful vocals full of soul and emotion with an edge reminiscent of Disturbed. Rich New Jersey tones, modern roaring sound and creative song writing and vocals combine to prove that AK is not just a college band but is sure to be a contender. This album has at least three singles, if not five or six. Look for these guys in Rolling Stone, MTV and at a concert near you in the not too distant future. I'm looking forward to their success and am wondering who is going to snatch them up as an opening act for a national tour. I have every confidence that they are here to stay - I just hope they remember me some day when they're famous so I can get my kids back stage! Seriously - Great album. Definite hit. Buy it and call your radio station - these guys need to be heard.

The songs have lyrics without an expiry date, commenting on life with simple and timeless references. Ken Munson's voice has both versatility and the energy of a nuclear reaction. Whether he's crooning a ballad or belting out a chorus, it's always strong and expressive.Addiction is composed of personal power, overcoming difficulties, and self discovery. It is optimistic. On "Closer to Free" the strumming guitars send out waves of pleasure, which build as the bass and drums are added. The song, about loss, feels like a map back to wholeness. The songs have a variety of structures. "Hold On" about being grounded, balances an apocalyptic guitar fee, pounding drums, and harsh vocals, with a melodic ending that emits peace. "Never Forget", about 9-11, begins happily, like the day itself, and builds to a forceful hammering, like the exploding destruction that followed. The chorus ambushes you at the beginning of "Like a Drug." The lyrics are insidious, like the behavior itself. "Honestly" about insecurites, has a vulnerability. Arthurkill defies classification in a genre. Like chocolate or potato chips, you can't listen to Addiction just once.
