5.0 out of 5 stars Good Kitchenaid product, August 12, 2005
By New Mexican Mom (New Mexico) - See all my reviews
This review is from: KitchenAid KFP740WH 9-Cup Food Processor, White (Kitchen)
I have had this since March and liked the look of the food processor. I chose the KA over Cuisinart b/c the KA looked more sturdy. The KA is very heavy, which is a good thing and the 9 cup is the perfect size. Not too big and not too small. It shreds an 8 oz block of cheese in 3 seconds. I have used it for shredding cheese, carrots, and grinding grahmn crackers, bread crumbs, and chicken. I haven't actually learned how to make it so the food processor doesn't completely pulverize the food to little pieces.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brand switch from Cuisinart to Kitchenaid, October 25, 2005
By Laura J. Strauss (Western New York) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: KitchenAid KFP740WH 9-Cup Food Processor, White (Kitchen)
I decided to buy a new food processor when the bowl on my Cuisinart food processor broke and I found out how much a new one would cost. After reading reviews on various websites I purchased a Kitchenaid 740 processor. So far I have been very pleased. I love the small mini-bowl for chopping small portions and its ease of cleaning. The machine is quiet and has worked well. The reason I am rating it 4 instead or 5 stars is because of the the following issues: one is that the the slicing blade makes fairly thin slices, and two is that you cannot put more than inch of liquid in the bowl-- a problem if you are going to make soup.
These issues can be lived with and I am enjoying my processor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Like having your own personal sous-chef!, September 30, 2005
This review is from: KitchenAid KFP740WH 9-Cup Food Processor, White (Kitchen)
My mother bought me my first food processor some 20 years ago. When it finally gave up the ghost, I decided I needed to replace it. I spent some time reading the reviews of various models online and was impressed with the comments about the KitchenAid 9-cup processor. Since I have a KitchenAid power mixer, I am familiar with the quality and strength of this product. When Amazon.com offered me an unbeatable deal on the 9-cup processor, the choice became easy to make!

Am I ever glad I chose this model! It is stylish, powerful and operates quietly, purring like a kitten as it effortlessly shreds cheese, kneads biscuits or chops veggies. It cleans up like a dream, too! Just a quick swish in warm soapy water and it looks just like new. The outer housing wipes clean with a swish of a sponge. It looks great on my countertop and makes meal preparation a breeze! I recently prepared a favorite zucchini casserole. I was amazed when I sliced 8 zucchini (in perfect slices, I might addd) in under 30 seconds!! I can shred an 8 ounce brick of cheese in about 3 seconds. I can make perfect pie crust in about 30 seconds. This machine does it all! I love the pulse feature for chopping veggies. The chopping bowl does not stain or retain food odors, so I can chop tomatoes, garlic, and basil for fresh tomato sauce and then I can rinse it clean and make a pie crust and there is no carry over of flavors. The dough blade makes fabulous biscuits and scones, too!

I spend a lot of time in my kitchen...or at least I used to! My kitchen time has been greatly reduced since I "hired" my new "sous-chef" to do all my food prep for me. I think I'm in love!
