This thing works. I won't make a lot of crazy claims, but I will say that this is a great starter device to get your abdominal muscles working properly. My wife bought it and I was afraid it was going to be a typical TV gimmick. Now I use it more than she does.

It seems to tighten up and strengthen the whole range of abdominals (and some parts of the back and shoulders), making you more slender across the midsection and giving you the strength to do gut-busting exercises if you want to do those crunches you feel you cannot do right now.

As someone else pointed out, this is really a benefit if you already do cardiovascular or fat-burning exercises but need to trim in concentrated areas. Exercises like this don't remove fat (cardio, etc., does that--consider doing them with a heart monitor to guarantee a consistent effort.) They firm up the muscles in those areas instead of hanging loosely and looking flabby.

What NOT to do? (I know this from experience) Don't do crunches with weight. I built a nice strong round belly that way once (thanks for the wrong advice, Bally's!) If you made that mistake, I hate to say it, but you'll probably have to LAY OFF the abdominal exercises for a long time, then use this, add torso twisters (with very low weight) and lower back extensions, crunches (without weight) and knee raises. You will find that the AB Slide and torso twisters build your strength so you can do the other exercises--a total of maybe 10-15 minutes a day.

As with any exercise, TAKE IT EASY at first. Don't extend all the way until you've been using it for a while. Once you've been using it a week or so, you'll get a feel for how far you can extend.

This is my 3rd Ab-Slider; although this one appears to be a cheaper made "knock-off" from the original. It has a smaller internal coil - which is the part that snaps and breaks after several months of use from any of these. I expect this one to break much sooner. I was looking for a deal - but should have known something was up when the shipping was almost as much as the Ab-Slider- I'm sure the seller padded the shipping cost to to make up for the lower cost of the slider.

This device is awesome, the first time i used it, my upper body was burning for days especially my abs, all you have to do is 5 to 10 a day to make a difference, they will be tighter in no time, i recommend this to anyone who is doing a lot of cardio already, this helps you not get flubby on the tummy :)
