5.0 out of 5 stars So much better than a shovel, February 25, 2005
By L. Halvorson (Gaithersburg, MD) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Toro 38182 CCR Powerlite 325E Single Stage Gas Snowblower w/ Electric Start
I've had my Toro 3 horse powercurve (CCR Light) for three years, but I know its at least 3 years older than that. Overall I love it. Sure, I'd like to have the bigger one but this is definately the type of blower I'd choose again. With rubber and plastic scrapers, I can use it on my brick paver sidewalk with no worry about chipping bricks. I even have the lights that mount into the brick and they aren't damaged by the blower.

This blower is a little underpowered for wet snow, but with time and patience it does fine. It's light enough to use on steps, sidewalks, or the front porch, yet powerful enough to use for my 1200 sq ft driveway. Like all blowers it does best in light fluffy snow, where it'll shoot snow almost 25 feet, but most of our snow is wet and it does anywhere from 8 feet to not at all. For instance, our streetside sidewalk, which catches all of the snow from the busy street (which gets plowed hourly) my blower will usually throw the wet slush a foot or two. I've learned again to take my time and it get's the job done well.

My one recommendation is to not cheap out and get the pull start only model. I've the electric start and sometimes it takes a minute to start. Wouldn't want to pull for all that time. Also I've done literally NO servicing of this blower. It gets used maybe 6 times a year, then in the spring I start it, let it run itself out of gas, and put it away. This year I may take it in to have it tuned up and new scrapers but nothing more.

The best thing I can say about it is I've put away my snow shovels a few years ago and haven't used them since.

2.0 out of 5 stars Toro Snowthrower, January 29, 2007
By Missy (Dearborn, Michigan United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Toro 38182 CCR Powerlite 325E Single Stage Gas Snowblower w/ Electric Start
I had one of these for about 10 years, and it worked fine (with annual maintenance, however). So I bought this identical unit a few years ago, and cannot get it to start! I've taken it in for service (to two different places); after a while, the guys will get it to start, but just state that it is tempermental. Too bad - the snow is not tempermental, and I have to go out with a shovel!

This is my last Toro. I'll seek out another brand next time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Toro not what it used to be, January 22, 2007
By Cynda P. (Hobart, IN USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Toro 38182 CCR Powerlite 325E Single Stage Gas Snowblower w/ Electric Start
My father was a big fan of Toro. The last snowthrower he bought I inherited and it lasted for 25 years. When I needed a new one, I bought this one. This is the third winter for it and at the beginning of each season I have to have it serviced because it won't start, even though I run all the gas out of it in the Spring as required. I may have gotten a lemon, because it certainly has left a sour taste in my mouth for Toro. Very disappointing.
