This American-invented (U.S. patent #D333424) and American-made window stopper works very well, especially on vertical windows. You need to keep in mind that this is designed to prevent kids from opening windows and sliding doors, not to stop adult intruders. It's very easy to use: just make sure the surface of the window or door is clean, then press this stopper onto the window. That's it. Then, check its hold once a week to make sure it didn't come loose for some reason.

The true genius of this simple device is the harder you try to open the lower window, the stronger the suction cup sticks to the upper glass pane. Absolutely ingenious. Thanks, Scott R. Kramer!

Why not 5 stars? For six bucks you get just one such plastic stopper, and the overall feel of it is rather flimsy. When I put the first one on a window, I deliberately jammed the lower window into the stopper hard, and I thought I had broken the part where the step-shaped part connects to the suction cup. For a made-in-USA product, the manufacture quality is not too confidence-inspiring.

Still, I *highly* recommend this product to any parent concerned about his or her kids climbing onto windows. In my apartment my landlord would not let me install metal bars, citing local fire code. This simple device solves all my problems!

We put this on our daughter's 2nd floor window in order to prevent her from climbing out and falling. It works fabulously. All you do is stick it to the window. We tried another window stop that we bought at babiesrus and to this day we cannot figure out how to make it work.

I brought it when my baby starts to know how to open the closet. The suction is good and my baby now unable to open up the closet. I going to buy more for my other room.
