Each AS-IW6 installs unobtrusively in the wall, where it takes up very little space while delivering topnotch stereo and home theater sound. Plus, the speakers include detachable bezels, so you can remove the speaker from the wall while the bezel stays securely mounted. This function comes in handy should you need to repaint or refinish your wall without damaging the speaker (the bezel and grille can also be painted).
Each two-way speaker is equipped with a 6.5-inch injection-molded cone woofer with a rubber surround for high power handling and durability, as well as dual 0.75-inch Teteron dome tweeters that reproduce exceptionally clear high frequencies. The speakers not only offer a broad 55 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response--helping them excel as either front or rear speakers in a surround system--but the Teteron tweeters are timbre matched to mesh with other Athena speakers, such as Audition floorstanding and bookshelf models. It's never been easier or more affordable to create a versatile, custom home theater speaker system. Further flexibility stems from the pivots beneath the tweeters, which let you easily direct the sound toward the listening position, and the unique two-position high-frequency equalizer control, which compensates for a room's specific acoustic effects.
