1.0 out of 5 stars Controls are very important to a racing game, January 31, 2008

And unfortunately, this doesn't have any.
Let me start by saying, I LOVE Initial D! The story and art is fantastic, if you can find the videos, get them, same with the books and movie.

This game, however, will have you pounding your controller in fury less than 10 minutes into the game. My guess is that ValuSoft had a broken game engine, and threw the Initial D skins on this to make a fast buck from people like me who truly love the series and would happily plop down their cash for a game from it.

I'll be brutally honest here, I've only played a couple of races in this game, but it's more than enough to "steer" anyone away from it. Simply put, the controls are, at best, unresponsive, and at worst, totally broken. You'll spend the entire race bouncing from one wall to the next, never having the feel that you're in control, while your opponent happily blazes on ahead of you. I very much enjoy racing games, and have played them since the original Test Drive, all the way up to Forza 2, but never have I come across a set of controls this bad.
I can't force you not to get this game, but I *DO* recommend you avoid this one at all costs. There is a free Java based game that runs circles around this one, just hit up Google and I'm sure you'll come away happier than you would have if you'd have paid for this one.
