Editorial Reviews

Americana UK / Lynn Pettinger, Feb. 2007 http://www.americana-uk.com/auk/index.php
[9 out of 10 stars] Ahhh, where to start? In truth, its hard to put it into words; this is a fantastic record, one that's a treat from start to finish.

Product Description
Alternative contemporary acoustic folk rock combining honest, evocative lyrics, strong melodies, great vocals and well-written songs with a raw musical edge. Martha Berner's songs are often intensely personal, yet her heart-felt delivery gives them a universal appeal.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Gem!, October 23, 2005
A gem! The perfect CD for my car! With a hint of Natalie Merchant, Aimee Mann and Norah Jones, singer/songwriter Martha Berner's "...This Side Of Yesterday" is wonderful from beginning to end. Favorite songs are the infectious "Good Company", "Dear Franklin", the touching "Mother" and the lively "A Town Called Happiness". It's only a matter of time before she's a household name with the adult contemporary/college radio crowd. Heard she's great live too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Heading for Stardom !, November 3, 2005
By TIgger (England) - See all my reviews
From start to finish this Cd is full of poetic lyrics, storytelling of happy times "Good Company" and sad times - obviously reflected in the song 'Mother". This author/artist sounds like she has had quite the interesting life already ! Hope this is the first of many Cd's to come - how about seeing this in vinyl someday soon - what a cool record that would be :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Magical!, April 5, 2007
I'm always hoping to find a great album by somebody obscure, and waste way too much money buying cds on the hopes of finding such a gem. But this album exemplifies why I keep trying. You have to give it a couple of listens before it really grabs you but then -- wow! About half the songs on the album make me exclaim "Good, here comes my favorite" when they start up.
