Super Set for the little Chef!, December 31, 2007
My 3 1/2 year old daughter received this for Christmas, and I have to say, it's a quality set...the apron and hat (her's were both solid red) are well made and seem durable so far...the hat has an ajustable option using velcro, that I like. The measuring cups and spoons are color coded and marked, and are as solid as the sets that I use...same for the large bowl and spoon...it comes with a cute little cookbook, which is almost all dessert options, but with a nobake feature, you can't expect a 7 course meal, lol. Last night I assisted the Chef with making the confetti cakes, and my daughter had a ball, she measured and mixed, started the microwave and then spread the mix into her pan...and the end result was actually a tasty peanutbutter marshmallow fudgy type treat, lol...This is an excellent starter set for the 5 and under set, help them to learn basic kitchen terms and skills...Oh, and the book even has star stickers for the kids to rate the recipes, stickers to show if they did it themselves, or with help, and stickers to go on the basic ingredients in most of the recipes, I liked this feature, for what kid dosen't like stickers.
All in all, I'd definitely recommend this set for the little chef in your home, it's well worth the price, and you can help create priceless memories for your child and yourself!

Could be better, January 29, 2009
I was disappointed the apron was so thin but I understand it's an inexpensive set. I do not care for the cookbook at all. They list the basic ingredients for each recipe, but not quantities, so it can be hard to figure out what you'll need to buy. And each recipe has a suggestion for "jazzing it up" (in actuality, making it look like the picture) that requires additional ingredients that are listed separately.
For example, if you follow the recipe for "There's a Mouse in the House" you will make cookie balls. The title of the recipe and the picture imply you'll end up with mice, but this is only achieved by following the optional instructions ("jazzing it up") and adding red licorice, red candy, and almonds. If you bought them.
My 3-year-old and I are having fun, but I wouldn't recommend this set to anyone else.

Color Coded Baking Set., January 19, 2009
This cooking set is the best quality for the price you can find. The book is very easy to follow even for little kids. The apron and bakers hat are just darling, and adjustable so they fit. I bought a baking set just like this one for one of my granddaughters and we were going to bake cookies on Christmas eve, just the two of us. Then we found out that another of my granddaughters would be coming to spend the night with me then too, so I looked everywhere and finally found one thru Amazon.com (thank God for Amazon.com). I ordered it and it was supposed to be January 6th before I got it. I was wondering what I would do with two little girls and just one bakers hat and apron. Well, that package came within three days (and for the regular postage price at that). Both of my little angels had hats and aprons and we made some very special Christmas Memories, took the cutest pictures and tapes, and made some surprisingly great cookies. They were in charge of mixing, stirring and decorating! We had the most fun. Santa sure loved the cookies and milk. Thanks, Amazon.com.
