Product Description

Funny where ideas come from. I went for a one-mile walk down to 7-11 for a soda, and a whole string of crazy time-travel gags kept popping into my head. By the time I got home, they were in sensible order, with a logic I could not escape. What if regular folks really could change history? What kind of mess would we end up with?

About the Author

Scott has had over 300 stories & poems published since 1986, even one piece in Analog. He was one of the sailor in “Master and Commander” and is now writing/directing short films, still trying to find an audience. He has had all the random jobs an author needs, from printshop labor to space science database work, background actor, even helping profoundly retarded folks get through the day. He currently builds websites and sells stamps on eBay, a recipe that is a kind of sci-fi few will believe.

3.0 out of 5 stars So many great ideas...would have liked to have read them separately..., April 10, 2006
By Adam Mezei "Adam Daniel Mezei" (Prague, Czech Republic) - See all my reviews
I've pegged this one a "3-star" because it rests in the middle of this odd-numbered 5-scale. It's one of the first reviews I've written in the Shorts section for which I'm neither convinced nor unconvinced about the merits of the current selection.

The things I liked about your Short:

1) The quotes were well-placed and appropriate. Full of insight themselves. I can imagine someone riffing off on those at length, with the prose meandering into so many interesting tributaries. There isn't a limit to what you can say about these cues, mind you.

2) The parts where you began to expound were clever and insightful -- but they were so deserving of a much longer treatment, to be honest, Scott. It's unlike *you* to have curtailed things so.

I'm amazed by the breadth of wisdom you've got on certain topics. I'll never be dissuaded from the notion that the true masters of the writing universe are the ones who get themselves caught up in so many diverse areas of knowledge. Very much like how I see your mind works.

Sci-fi is a difficult read, at times, and I think you've got tremendous talent. In my opinion, this one could use a little tightening, though.

I hope you don't mind my candour. However, I'm always up for a read of anything you've got.

Thanks again, from Prague.
