Amy Speace is a New York musical staple at venues like the Living Room and the Bitter End and a favorite among the Nashville singer/songwriter crowd. Moving across the Hudson to Hoboken, Amy was drawn to a burgeoning New Jersey roots scene that was evolving. Influenced by artists like Son Volt, Ryan Adams, Lucinda Williams and The Jayhawks, she began working with other players and put together a band, The Tearjerks. The band honed its sound playing shows from Boston to New York to Nashville, where the Village Voice, Time Out New York and the Nashville Rage named Amy Speace the "Critic's Pick." Songs For Bright Street was produced by James Mastro (The Bongos, Health & Happiness Show, Ian Hunter). Bright Street features The Tearjerks and is graced by guests Gary Louris (The Jayhawks), E-Street Band fiddler Soozie Tyrell and Cliff Eberhardt.
