I hold the Verilux brand in high regard as I have purchased and been pleased with their full-spectrum bulbs, lamps, and the popular "Happy Light", which I recommend. However, when I purchased this Verilux Book and Travel Light I found the quality to fall a bit short. It's a cute little item, handy, and very bright on the "high" setting, but I found that the unnecessary "medium" setting functions best as a night light. It requires frequent AA battery changes-once every 1-2 days, but does come with a recharging cord for a computer[like an i-pod has].
It wasn't quite as convenient as I'd hoped. Also with my daily use, the button that slides between medium and high has now broken, rendering it useless, so it has been more of a disposable light for me.

First off let me say that I have tried a few lights for my Kindle. I have a MightyBrite and it works well, but it tends to light up the entire room. I like to read in bed at night and didn't want to have to have a light on that would keep my wife up. The MightyBrite was almost as bright as doing that!

I read a review on a Kindle Forum about this light. I liked that it was compact, rechargeable, and was a Verilux light. I have not been disappointed! I am in the process now of ordering a second light for my wife! The light clips on the case for the Kindle and spreads an even light over the screen of the Kindle even on the low setting. It does not seem to have the problem of a hot spot as other lights do.

The device is rather large, clumsy to attach to the top of a book, has to be put on and taken off over and over as you read, and does not provide adequate and uniform illumination on the page to which it is attached, nor on the opposite page. Attached to a laptop PC screen, it barely illuminates the keyboard. It's not worth a dollar and is a real disappointment.
