Amazon.com Product Description

Get a great workout in your home with the quiet and smooth Horizon T72 treadmill, which can reach speeds up to 10 miles per hour. Perfect for rigorous training routines, the T72 has a 2.0 horsepower incline motor with a 0 to 10-percent grade and speed increments of 0.5 miles per hour. The SmartBoard computer console has a blue backlit LCD and separate speed and incline display windows, as well as one-touch modification keys for speed and incline. It includes six preset programs--manual, interval, weight loss, golf, hills, and custom. The treadmill also offers a built-in fan to keep you cool and running longer and contact heart rate monitors built into the handles.

Its easily storable, thanks to Horizon's exclusive Featherlight lift, which incorporates two hydraulic shocks to assist you when raising and lowering the deck. They even hold the deck in place above 45 degrees, eliminating drops. The ultra-compact, fold-on-nose design is the safest, easiest in its class.

The multi-ply AirCell belt provides excellent cushioning and durability, and it's divided into three distinct zones:

  • Impact zone, with thicker, softer cushioning to take stress off your legs and joints
  • Transition zone, with moderate cushioning for comfort as you move through the stride
  • Push-off zone, with thinner, denser cushioning for a more solid surface to launch into your next stride

The Horizon Quitetdrive system use an integrated digital drive for fast, accurate control. Its continuous duty motor--the same type found in health club units--also incorporates large magnets to keep the RPM low, which translates to a quieter motor that will run longer and generate more power than other treadmill motors.

About Treadmills
Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.

From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.

While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pathetic customer service if you need help, November 13, 2007
We bought the T72 a few months ago. We had a used treadmill and decided we were ready to make the investment. Actually putting the thing together was not that easy because the holes did not match up on the hand rests. That aside though, we were ready to get started.

The product worked great for several weeks and then the belt just stopped in the middle of a running workout. The computer kept working, but the belt didn't restart. When the machine was turned off and back on, it started up with no problem.

The same thing happened several more times, so we called customer support only to discover they are only available from 8 till 5. So we sent an email. Several days later we get a response asking us to verify that it is on a "dedicated 20 amp circuit." We have since moved it to 5 different locations with no success.

After another 3 phone calls and 3 different associates with a whole list of failed suggestions, a customer service rep said we might need a new drive motor. Since the part was on backorder, we must not be the only ones with this issue. They said the installation would be easy but that they could send a tech if needed.

The installation was NOT easy, so we called for a rep. (Isn't that why we pay for the warranty?) We were set up with a 4 hour time slot the next day. Three hours into that time slot, we got a call saying the tech couldn't make it. We were told he'd be here somewhere between 8 and 5 the next day.

We are now out countless hours troubleshooting this ourselves, plus several phone calls and emails, and two days of work all to get a treadmill working that has been sitting in our home (paid for and warrantied) for several months.

I would not waste my time on Horizon Fitness. I think that if the product works, you'll have a good experience with the treadmill, but if you need help... you won't find much customer service. I'm not saying this to be hateful; just trying to save other buyers the headache.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor fit and finish, February 9, 2007
By Flash Gordon (Edison, NJ) - See all my reviews
The assembly of this treadmill should not take more than 1/2 hour, but it took me almost one and half hour!!! Why, this is due to the poor fit and finish. They were 3 places I could not get the bolts to fit in no matter how I tried. Another place the bolt fitted in very poorly. I left with 3 bolts for 3 different places that I could not get them to fit in! Fortunately, they are not crucial. The poor alignment of the parts are just terrible!!! I have never encountered anything like this before. There is no way that I was going to pack this monster back for exchange because they were not crucial areas. Besides, what makes you think another one would have a better fit? This is the worst Chinese made product I have bought. I just hope the treadmill is reliable for a few years. Good thing that I bought the extended warranty. I would suggest that you stay away from Horizon products!

4.0 out of 5 stars wife is happy, I'm happy, February 2, 2007
This is my first treadmill so I'm no expert but I am satisfied with this treadmill. I did some research before I made the purchase and took the plunge after I got a AMEX Wishlist coupon for Amazon. On the first T72 I recieved, the motor would not run but the electronic board got power. Also the fan did not turn off. So I had to do an exchange, which was a hassle but our 2nd one is up and we are running. Both my wife and I are happy with the 2nd one.
