Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Get a great workout in your home with the quiet and smooth Horizon T71 treadmill, which can reach speeds up to 10 miles per hour. Perfect for rigorous training routines, the T71 has a 1.75 horsepower incline motor with a 0 to 10-percent grade. The SmartBoard computer console is easy to read and make adjustments with a spacious blue backlit LCD screen and one-touch modification keys for speed and incline. It includes four preset programs--manual, interval, weight loss, and golf. It also offers a built-in fan to keep you cool and running longer and contact heart rate monitors built into the handles.

The T71 easily storable, thanks to Horizon's exclusive Featherlight lift, which incorporates two hydraulic shocks to assist you when raising and lowering the deck. They even hold the deck in place above 45 degrees, eliminating drops. The ultra-compact, fold-on-nose design is the safest, easiest in its class.

The multi-ply AirCell belt provides excellent cushioning and durability, and it's divided into three distinct zones:

  • Impact zone, with thicker, softer cushioning to take stress off your legs and joints
  • Transition zone, with moderate cushioning for comfort as you move through the stride
  • Push-off zone, with thinner, denser cushioning for a more solid surface to launch into your next stride

The Horizon Quietdrive system use an integrated digital drive for fast, accurate control. Its continuous duty motor--the same type found in health club units--also incorporates large magnets to keep the RPM low, which translates to a quieter motor that will run longer and generate more power than other treadmill motors.

About Treadmills
Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.

From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.

While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great treadmill, tough assembly., January 5, 2007
By L. Dean (Northern Michigan) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Horizon T71 Treadmill (Sports)
Agreeing with the previous reviewer, this is a great machine once you get it together. It took my husband and I both to line up bolts and openings correctly to get parts together. Nothing lined up, and we ended up shaving some rubber coating off the handles to get the bolts to even catch and tighten. Took us over an hour to get it together. That said, it has been a great machine to work out on for the price. Easy-to-use programming, cooling fan, cushioned support, etc. The power switch is in an awkward place on the bottom front of the treadmill.

5.0 out of 5 stars Manufacturer Note: Important Note on Assembly, June 12, 2007
This review is from: Horizon T71 Treadmill (Sports)
The concerns about the assembly process of the T71 and T72 treadmill have been noted and your satisfaction is important to us. We have examined the issues closely and have made adjustments to the owner's manual to correct the problem and make the process much easier for you.
* If there is an alignment issue encountered in Assembly Step 3, Part C Insert BOLT (F) into HANDLEBAR EXTENSION; please note that the right and left support bars can be reversed to improve alignment. For example, the right support bar can be used on the left side and vice versa.

Our thorough testing has shown that this modification has resolved the alignment issue in assembly these treadmills. If you continue to experience any problems, please contact the customer tech support team at Horizon Fitness by calling 1-800-244-4192 and one of our representatives will be happy to walk you through the process of resolving any issues.

1.0 out of 5 stars sloppy workmanship, January 11, 2007
This review is from: Horizon T71 Treadmill (Sports)
If I wern't so handy Horizon would have had to send a represenatative to my home in order to put this unit together. All bolts were very hard to secure and felt as though they were cross threaded. Some bolt holes did not line up and in two instasnces I had to drill through the steel to make them .And when I finally got it together it would not operate as a connector in the circuit board was not pluggerd in.Also the wrong parts were sent in one of the hardware packages.Do yourself a big favor DON'T buy this product!!!!!
