About the Author

Always the observer, Frank Bosworth has spent a lifetime with the notion he is on the outside looking in. Everything gets noticed and noted, very little escapes. In his mid-twenties, searching for a creative release, Bosworth entered a short story/play he wrote and staged into a competition, which took him to New York City. While competing, the work was seen by George Nolan, then Director of the New York Academy of Theatre Arts. As fate would have it, a scholarship to NYATA, was granted. The scholarship, and all the boundless expression the stage allows, found him just in the nick of time, catching him quite by surprise. Thus began a thirty year love affair with theatre. An actor, director, producer, stand-up comic, poet, street performer and lover of the short story, he realized writing was the one thread binding them, holding him, together. Out on his own early in life, at times he has had to survive on sheer wit, wily ways, and wishful wisdom. Where to some life is a test, Bosworth likens it more to a pop-quiz. Only those quick enough, creative enough, witty enough to react, are allowed to move on to the next experience, the next round. Over the years, luck, fate, and roads traveled have put, placed or dropped a wealth of colorful characters in his path. Chronicling the oft times funny, emotional, dramatic, yet always colorful characters chance assembled to orbit his formative youth, Baseballs, Citrus Suckies, Stanley & Me. So sit back, put your feet up, pull the box of Junior Mints® a bit closer. The show is about to begin.

Bosworth has a unique and delightful way of presenting the reader
with doses of the wit and wisdom of moments from
everyday life that we often miss while looking backwrd or forward or simply away; in so doing he touches our hearts, opens out eyes and sometimes makes us shed a long awaited tear inside a good hard laugh.!

5.0 out of 5 stars Humor With A Subtle Message, November 9, 2006
Frank Bosworth excels at not only being funny but managing to convey a thoughtful undercurrent. Most humorous writers provide laughs, then switch to serious mode for the "lesson" while Bosworth has the reader shifting between chuckling and howling from beginning to end, but still sends the reader away, pondering the size of the role chance plays in our lives.

Loved this entertainingly humorous story of personal success and failure where the author's fate is determined, as is the norm, not by his athletic capabilities, determination or personality, but by another's success or failure. We can all relate to this story as we all wait for our 15 minutes of fame!
Is a must read!!
