The Makita UH6350 is an electric trimmer that has low vibration which cuts down on the strain on your arms and hands. It's a lightweight unit and even with the long blade it's well balanced. It has one of the most powerful smooth-running motors in its class. Ergonomic grip design for comfort and easy handling. Well balanced and lightweight (7.3 Lbs.). Low motor noise level for quiet operation. 2 hand operation switch, motor runs only when grips are held with both hands. Large, transparent hand guard permits a good view of the work area. Low vibration for reduced strain on hands and arms. The UH6350 Includes: UH6350 electric hedge trimmer, Shear blade (222-230-660), and Blade cover (220-233-620)

I have used this trimmer about 4 times now. Twice to do some major trimming of bamboo. My last trimmer, a Black & Decker model, did not have the power to cut bamboo. The Makita is not only a lot more powerful but it is much quieter too. It is also heavier but I don't really notice the extra weight when I am actully using it.
Overall, I am quite happy with this trimmer and would not hesitate to recommend it.

This is a great product. I've read reviews that complained about the dual safety handles. Not a problem. These "dead man" switches span the entire length of the handle of which they are a part. Very easy to use. I only wish they had a 30" model!

Well constructed trimmer and perfect size. It is a little heavy if you plan on hours of trimming, but hey it is a solid well-built machine. Cuts quickly and accurately. The dead man switch is no problem in my opinion - I got used to this safety feature after about 2 minutes. I would recommend this trimmer.
