Product Description

From the Manufacturer

The FinePix A800 is the first model in Fujifilm's A-Series line-up to sport an 8-megapixel Super CCD sensor and the first to incorporate light sensitivities of up to ISO 800 at full resolution. Borrowing a page from Fujifilm's more advanced camera models, the FinePix A800 shoots at higher light sensitivities with less noise than comparative models. This results higher quality "natural light" photos and less blur in images as the FinePix A800 matches these higher light sensitivities with faster shutter speeds.

The new Finepix A800 will also feature a new enhanced GUI (Graphic User Interface) icon based menu system specifically designed to make it easy for first-time digital camera users to find their way around all of the brilliant features of the camera. The menu system even offers a brief description of each feature/setting as you move through the menu; so finding the right adjustment of setting is a snap!

In addition, the Finepix A800 features more preset scene positions than ever before in an entry level Finepix digital camera, offering 14 different scene positions that make it easy to get great pictures in a variety of challenging shooting environments.

Fujifilm's new A-Series models offer the following attractive features:

  • 8.3M Super-CCD-HR
  • Fujinon 3x optical zoom lens
  • Automatic ISO setting up to 800 with low noise
  • Large 2.5-inch LCD display for easy framing and playback
  • Improved icon based graphic user interface menu
  • Easy operation for basic functions with mode dial selector
  • Internal memory (approximately 10MB)
  • Fourteen flexible scene position modes optimize camera performance
  • New Xd/SD media slot accepts either xD media or SD card

Product Description

The FinePix A800 features 8.3 megapixels. The FinePix A800 incorporates light sensitivities up to ISO800 at full resolution for "natural light" photos and less blur images. This camera appeals to first time buyers looking for outstanding performance at an affordable price. The FinePix A800 features Fujifilm's "Intelligent Flash" technology, which measures the size and position of the subject and sets flash power output and exposure level accordingly. Intelligent Flash delivers natural looking images without the 'washed out' effect that can be the result of traditional on-camera flash. For A800, several shooting modes will help users to take the best pictures in every situation. For example, "Baby mode" reproduces skin tones accurately and "Picture Stabilization mode" enables the camera to enhance its shutter speed for with less blur photos. The FinePix A800 features 14 scene position modes.Ease of use is key to the design of the FinePix A800, with a simple button layout that makes the cameras ideal for first time users. The FinePix A800 features a newly designed mode dial, enabling users to quickly select scene position modes with their thumb. Framing photographs is made easy with a large 2.5" LCD monitor with an anti-reflective coating to prevent glare when shooting in daylight. The camera is powered by two AA-size batteries, which are readily available around the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fuji makes a fine camera!, May 21, 2007

This is my second Fuji camera and I love it! It takes clear, sharp pictures and is really easy to use. The video feature captures wonderful footage with very little shake and decent audio. For a "point and shoot" camera this is excellent value for the money!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Little Camera, December 15, 2007
This is the 3rd Fuji Finepix I have owned. I've never had any problems with any of them and the pictures are great. I compared this one to a Sony at the same price, and the Fuji won me over. The Fuji now has the image stabilization which helps as I get older and cannot hold the camera as steady as I used to. Great little camera for the amateur or professional.

3.0 out of 5 stars Almost perfect, December 24, 2007

This is my second Fuji digital. My first one had a view finder. This one does not. I dont think anyone should buy a camera that doesnt have a view finder in my opinion. You just cant see the lcd screen in bright sunny conditions. I love Fuji picture quality. I like the size and the familiar functions. I just dont like that it doesnt have a viewfinder. No matter what brand I buy next, it will have a view finder.
