Awesome gift to fit the family with different beverage tastes, January 2, 2006
I recently received the brewer as a holiday gift and was quite pleasantly surprised in both the quality of the maker and the selections of blends, which were included. The brewer was simple to set up, clean, and prep. The water holder was easy to remove fill and reattach. The toughest part for us was to choose from the varieties of coffee and tea blends that were included in the original package. I felt that this was a nice touch on simplehuman's part because one can conveniently try several types of blends without risking the purchase of a single blend one may find later that is not to taste or liking. The brewer works nicely for us because we start the day differently: I like drinking coffee while my husband drinks tea. A flip of the lever and quick change of the packet, select 5 or 8 oz & push of the button--Presto! So far my favorite is their French Vanilla coffee and my husband really likes their Earl Grey blend--but we're still working through the remaining varieties. A friend preferring a stronger blend really liked the flavor of the Breakfast Blend. ;) Although I usually don't take the time to write reviews, I felt that this brewer deserved our recommendation. If you like a fresh taste in your tea or coffee, like the option to change from one cup to the next, and like the "brew-on-demand" option, then this "simplehuman brewer" is definitely worth your while to try.

Great Single Serve Coffee Brewer, January 3, 2006
We received this brewer as a Christmas present and have been very impressed. Granted I am no coffee expert but I do drink at least a cup or two per day and would occasionally brew my own.
Out of the box, the simple human brewer was VERY easy to setup and in minutes, I made my first cup. The unit is surprisingly solid and sturdy unlike brewers from other brands that are made mostly out of plastic. The simple human's brewer is stainless steal; the lever, the water tank, the coffee pod trays are all very well made. Also, the footprint of the unit is pretty small and it sits right next to our toaster and took less space than our previous coffee brewer.
The water tank is removable which makes it convenient to refill. The machine also runs quietly and a large cup took less than a minute to make.
While the coffee included were good, I was happy to find out later that other coffee pods from other brands also work with the unit.
Overall, I would recommend this coffee brewer if you are looking for a single serve machine. It is very easy to use, easy to clean, and pleasant on the eye.

Pod Brewer - Not Quite Ready for Prime Time, January 9, 2007
The pod brewer is a great concept, but I'm not thrilled with the result. I've not tried other single cup brewers, so I can't compare. However I am a bit disappointed with the quality of the coffee coming from this unit. I have to give tremendous credit to Simplehuman for their customer service. I complained about the weak coffee I was getting from the first unit and they sent me a replacement unit immediately. No hassle. They did what they could to try to correct the problem. The replacement unit's brew was substantially better but still quite weak compared to traditional brewed coffee. I have tried several of the Molto coffe pod varieties. The Breakfast Blend seems to brew the best. If you just want the convenience of a pod brewer, this may be for you, But if you really care about the taste of the coffee, I'd stick with a traditional brewer for now.
