*Note - Whole Season 2 - RUINED by blowing up a REAL 68' Camaro!! - Outrageous!! I Stand by this rating - until someone can prove to me - it was CGI - or a tiny model or something like that.
Actually .5-Stars for me. - To me Season 2 is Literally a continuation of Season 1 - meaning the creators were so creative and had so many concepts - season 1 couldn't hold them all. When season 3 came along - that was my least favorite one - esp with actor Michael Rapaport.
1 & 2 were the Best!! Seems each disc or season has like 2 episodes with 'Commentary' - I wish they ALL had them. - I Love trivia on shows like this - wish this had More. I also wish it had More Bonus features - like interviews with the cast (individually) - and behind the scenes footage. How some effects were done - and some Outtakes (not just deleted scenes).
And Greg Garcia - and his staff. - How was this show Created? - What went into making this show??
What was its demise?? - Something Idiotic had to have happened - to lose a Fantastic show like this!!
And the writers - gotta be some clever people there!! - Just leaves me wanting More - More info - more insights & trivia.
P.S. in the commentary - None of the cast knows "House of the rising sun" by The Animals?? - They gave credit to The Rolling Stones!!! Duh!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi!
I am from germany and was introduced to the "My name is Earl" series through an american friend. So I bought the first season from Amazon in the US and was amazed! I really love the idea that stands behind the series and after a few episodes you get to know and love the characters, too!
The second season shows more background information to the characters and goes deeper into Earl Hickey's universe. I love it! Get both available seasons together, it is a must-have, when you love outstanding comedy!

Sorry, but the other reviewers are leading you astray. As usual, (re)viewers fall in love with a show and think it can do no wrong. Well, plenty goes wrong in Earl's second season---mainly the scripts.

The writers are milking the same old laughs, and even a bunch of decent guest stars can't make this nearly as funny as season one. They try to get outside the box at times, but when all of your characters are basically morons, things get a little stale after a while. The trailer park humor worked for a season, but now it's just old.

The only really funny thing on this show now is Joy; Pressly does a great job of making her lines come alive, show after show. Everyone else seems caught up by the slowly increasing weakness of the scripts. There's also the feeling that now that the formula is set, let's milk this puppy while we can. Randy and the cleaning lady are especially flat by the middle of this season.

This season has its moments, but it also has loooong minutes of pedestrian writing and nothing interesting going on, and cheap attempts at weak laughs.
Didn't think this would jump the shark so soon.

Earl's list should now include, "Had a good, really funny show and then made it boring."

The stories in the second season continue to show the whole group doing the crazy things that made them so appealing in season one. This season though, has a couple of ongoing stories. The big one that runs through the whole season is Joy's run-in with the legal system when she steals a delivery truck and that continues to her trial in the final episode. Also Randy's love for Catalina and his efforts to marry her are covered. Many of the characters are shown in flashback episodes that gives the viewer some new insights into their world. Crabman is the one that is the most intriguing and it's a shame that his backstory is not given a lot more coverage.
